hi i rehomed a greyhound on wednesday,it was too give my dobbie lurcher a mate to run with.He has just turned 4,he is a really meaty boy.He has just retiered because he has pulled a ligament in his front leg so iam resting him up for a month or so.He,is called Buster, his race name is Azzurri Premier,.He was suppose to stay in his kennel but has taken over my 15 years old bed and bedroom, also has claimed his sofa in the living room.He is a big softy.I love him to bits already.I am hoping to take a pic tommorow,so i will put it on. :D

Hi,

Good luck with your new addition.I too, rescued a Greyhound in March,to add to my two Lurchers. She is a joy,and such fun to own.

Wow...you certainly picked a nice one! :) Here is the link if anyone would like to have a look at his pedigree, racing history and of course a photo.

He won an open race round Romford in 2006 and completed 50 races. He has certainly earned his place on the sofa and is gorgeous looking!

wow he's fab, what a dog for your lurcher to run with
Thanks alot for your comments he is a lovely lad,at the moment he cant be in contact with my dobbie lurcher as she is in season but he is howling the house down poor thing. At the moment he has a pulled ligament so has to rest up, i am just taking him on 2 short walks a day,i was told to rest him up for 4 weeks but i ll give it 8 if he still aint right off to the vets he will go and get x rayed.I love him to bits.He has settled in fine but i think he misses a mate as he would be used to many other grey hounds. He is spoiled rotten.this is my first grey hound of my own.Me id home all the grey hounds i could.I ve tried to put his pic up but i cant seem to get it on same with sashas pics.

Well ive added to my family,on Monday i got an email from the guy i got buster off.he had a wee bitch that needed rehoming. She had been in his kennels for 7 months,no one wanted to rehome her,no one was interested.I had seen her when i picked up buster. So after a great lot of thinking what to do as i wanted to rehome Gina,s lurcher, after great thinking i thought well she could be there another 7 months, and the lurcher was only young and would eventually find a home,it was heartbreaking. So Tuesday morning i went and picked up Izzy racing name Singles Row,she is so different from Buster a real character. The owner was worried about 2 bitches being together but i had to give it a shot.No probs not even a growl between them.So much for kenneling her she now owns my other sofa. But last night i left Izzy in my kitchen, she did ok no mess or anything,Here how it goes my lurcher sleeps in my bedroom on her cushion,Buster has the sofa in the living room at night,Izzy has the kitchen on her cushion. That leaves me with 3 rooms left lol my son,s bedroom, the bathroom and the hall way oh and the kennel outside.lolI think the kennel will be mine if i bring home another.Tonight ive left Izzy with Buster in the living room on the other sofa.No that is me finished rehoming now.Izzy is 4 with a little grey round the mouth, but she is funny. She has got me round her little finger or should i say toe.Thats another one with a home for life. Will send pics soon.PS can you get addicted to these hounds lol.

Both greyhounds doing fine, still wont settle in kennel, running out of sitting room.Gave the wee bitch a run yesterday with Sasha. She enjoyed it,but was crying after her short run.She had no limp or any signs of injury. All i know was she had been retired for 7 months and no one as i said earlier showed any interest in her.I know she had some muscle damage before she was retired, that was the reson she had to retire.Since i got her i have walked her twice a day for 20 to 30 minutes along with Buster,we dont hurry just a strolling pace.I have a 30 foot garden but she just walks around it never runs around.Am i doing anything wrong or am i not doing enough.Buster has not ran yet i am too scared,i was told to rest him a month, that has just passed but i would be happier to rest him another 4 weeks. He no longer limps on his leg,not even when he has walked for 20 or so minutes, when will i know when it is right to let him off the lead,Any help would be gratefull, thank you.
