good luck with the rehoming , just a thought have you tried akita rescue? they would possibly have a list of suitable homes waiting and checked , offering a dog free to good home can encourage the wrong type of owners , hope you dont mind me saying that ? good luck and i will try to find a number for you to call

It's true - you would be much better offering your dog to a rescue where they may have home checked experienced people lined up ready to offer a great home - if you offer him free you could get some real idiots who may even want to use the dog for fighting/ leave it chained outside guarding - they are very good at pretending to be nice/ giving false addresses/ getting you to check a home which is not the one that the dog will end up in. Just a word of caution, that's all.

Got my akita rehomed through a dog sanctuary who went out and checked if it was suitable and also do follow up checks to see if he is still being treated well, which i am very pleased about. Still miss him though the new owners have got themselves a marvellous acquisition to their family. Take care BIG FELLA
