:) Hi to All,

thought I'd share my babies (6 Bitches, 4 Dogs)

Sire: 3 times BISS A/Ch. Marchpast the Emblem (imp UK)

Dam: A/Ch Birrarun Chilli Peppa

Mother and babies doing well, being such a big litter I have found a foster mother who will raise a puppy.

A big thankyou to Marilyn & her poodle for helping, the littlest girl will join her new mum & foster sister tomorrow.

I am very pleased with the whole litter, there is one just like Chilli who has already taken my fancy.

Cheers,

Anne

I would assume that there may be another reason other than that Keith as just taking one away won't really make much of a difference IMO,maybe she is much smaller than the others? and the breeder thinks she will have a better chance within a much smaller litter, from what I can glean from the original post the foster mum has only got a solo puppy. We recently had a litter of ten and I just left them with Mum and she coped admirably,I think as long as you keep an eye on them and possibly maybe "help out" with supplementation & a little aid ...I removed the larger, stronger pups from the back teats and placed the smaller pups on just to make sure that they were getting plenty of milk - they will do just fine.

CONGRATULATIONS Anne,Chilli & Carson!!  they do look to be a lovely litter and very pretty colors too!

Good luck with them and the foster girl and her mum too. :luck: :luck:

Hi to Katie,

As Chilli had a difficult labour (which resulted in caeserian) I am not comfortable with her having to raise such a big litter by herself, so to me, fostering is the logical option, i did try the bottle feeding with not much success, (my first attempt with bottle feeding)

Marilyn's poodle is a toy poodle so 1 extra is plenty (will post pic),

by word of mouth I am hopeful for 1 more puppy to be fostered, much better than letting a little one fade away.

Regards

Anne

Congratulations Anne on your new litter. You seem to have a nice mix of colours.

Good Luck with the little one.

CONGRATULATIONS Anne, Chilli and Carson. There is a beautiful litter by Carson in Tasmania, I filled in my afternoon today admiring and cuddling them. Hope your litter turns out as even and promising as these were. :D

Congrats and Good Luck with your new litter Anne.

Noelene we are saddened to hear of the loss of your Pastel. Pastel was a lovely girl, and did her daddy Floyd proud. It is always sad to loose our special ones.

Our thoughts are with you.

Congratulations to Anne on the birth of her Carson/Chilli babies. They are sure to turn some heads.

And yes, Jean's Carson litter in Tassie look very promising.

Also Congrats to Jen and Darcy for winning Best In Gp in Victoria over the weekend.

I am off to judge Whippets and Afghans in the USA at Western Hound Assn in CA this week. Jo Kramer will be my travelling companion, and we will be away just over 2 weeks. So California had better batten down the hatches!!!!.

Thanks Noelene,

:( sorry to see your loss with the passing of Pastel, we know she was much loved & had a great life.

Chilli for the first time left the whelping box unaided, when the grandkids arrived she greeted them, gave Mia(10mths) a big mouth to mouth kiss, (yuk puppy pooh breath)

Mia then crawled after her, out the lounge & up the passage, finding her & puppies.

Whippets, what a great family breed.

Hi All,

Just an update, pic of my little darling which i named Shazza after my dear friend Sharon(have'nt told her yet), this is the introduction to her foster sister, not much activity as yet, Shazza's friend is 2 wks old older than her, eyes open & much more alert but seemed to relish the cuddle :huggles: .
