Welcome to K9 - Ive only just joined too and had my whippet pup exactly one week tomorrow. Things I have found out this week - whippets like being snuggled up under a blanket and it helps them sleep longer. Ive got one of those fabric crates for mine (to go in the car also) and I wouldnt be without it for when Im in the shower or when Evie goes a bit ott! Whippy pups like to play hard for about 10 minutes then crash out, lots of times a day and if they cant find anything to play with then they will make their own entertainment. Ever tried to get a needed sock off a puppy........and best thing of all they are great cuddle monsters and love a snuggle on the sofa.
