Hi

living on the surrey sussex border we have been looking for a new pup for ages. We had one

arranged solidlt we thought in kent but somehow she's gone lame through rough or a tumble... and the breeder now isn't sure if she wants to keep her anyway. So after six weeks of anticipating and planning how to break in our new family member to our four cats etc we are again at square one looking for our whippet.

I grew up with whippets as my father in Australia has had them for he reckons fifty years now which could be true..anyhow myself settled and living here now its about time we got one on this lovely quiet secluded farm where we live.

I am looking definently for a bitch as I have dreams of a bunch of bunch of whippets from her eventually understanding more dogs better theory, but starting off small is also good.Young pup also important for cats and wife. Light colour prefer faun/white

If anyone knows of new litters breeder's etc we could try who have puppies now or very soon would be greatly apprieciated

many thanks

cheers Jethro

I think I'd steer clear of that one, I'd be getting bad vibes.

Someone had some very light fawns/creams on a thread, perhaps it was the Pennymeadow litter 2. Goodluck anyway :luck:

I'm the lady in question and please don't get bad vibes I have only been honest ,one of the bitches started limping yesterday for no apparent reason,I know that I want to keep a bitch but obviously would not pass on a lame one, so I contacted immediately so not to keep the family hanging on but no decisions have been made I'm hoping she did it in rough and tumble, in fact I e-mailed the stud owner(a k9er) this morning, apart from this little blip the puppies are all healthy and were all earmarked .

thanks-the stress levels went up a little, I'm hoping she just did it in rough and tumble, I contacted Jethro to keep him in the picture and understand how he feels but have hopes she'll be ok. I knew things were going too wonderfully smooth, the mating, pregnancy, birth and up to now the rearing have been fantastic, I've been on a real high. I've taken compliments all week on "my lovely pups" , I'm perhaps reacting too quickly especially if she recovers as quickly as it came on-in fact at the moment she is trying to bundle one of her litter mates so fingers crossed.

I think puppies are stressful on both sides - can't believe how stressful it's been just trying to choose one (without any mishaps!). I haven't slept for a fortnight, churning it over in my mind. It must be 10 times worse from the breeder's side, all those little futures to worry about :sweating:

(I think I'm close to a decision now though :- " )

:D Oh Dear............ had to have a laugh after reading through this, just shows how things said can get out of hand so quickly

Elizabeth Shame on you LOL  :- "

I know Sue has done a brilliant job rearing this litter and accidents do happen !

Hopefully this puppy will be fine, but if you feel that you need to find another pup Jethro thats fine............ I have a feeling it was me that put you onto Sue in the first place............. I am still having several enquiries for puppies in the south, so if anyone has puppies in this area please let me know and I can pass on the ones that would rather have a puppy now, than wait for my for coming litter.

Best wishes to all :luck:

Good on Crystal Id say  - at least she didnt let a future owner have a lame pup and wanted to find out first what was wrong with it. Good breeder Id say. Hope the pup turns out ok and all is well. :luck:

let us know what you decide Jethro - very good luck. :luck:

Hi all,

Just wanted to say Good on Crystal for being truthful and letting the buyer know. I am having one of her puppies, and i know she takes good care of them. As i have seen them all. :) :)

:b (no emoticon for big gob is there?)

I think what I meant is I have encountered the odd breeder (of cats, not whippets I'd have to say) that has given out mixed messages, which I found very uncomfortable at the time. It doesn't sound like that was the case here though.

:D It Ok Elizabeth you forgiven LOL
