Like two peas in a pod  Shame about the colour though  :clown: :huggles:

Very very nice, and they do look very similar don't they?

:huggles: Lovely babies. Well done to both of you on your wins.

Well done  Very beautiful dogs.

Great looking dogs, however I do not agree with the size and shape you show people have to keep your dogs in order to win at shows, surely a whippet is ment to look like it could catch a rabbit, even if it was never allowed to. Not your fault just the breed standard has lost the plot, in my humble opinion. A dog with good muscle tone should win every time.

Congratulations  Lovely

Can you explain how the following extracts from the whippet breed standard 'have lost the plot' .

I don't think a good dog is just down to muscle tone, its always going to be a combination of many physical as well as mental attributes that make a good dog.

I presume from your comment you are implying these dogs do not have good muscle tone and don't look like they can catch a rabbit. But I assure you both Millie & Dessies whippet are perfectly capable of catching rabbits, in fact their dogs are extremely fit and well muscled which is shown when they regularly lure course their dogs very successfully, and also if you saw their dogs in the flesh you would see so yourself. :- "

General Appearance

Balanced combination of muscular power and strength with elegance and grace of outline. Built for speed and work. All forms of exaggeration should be avoided.

Characteristics

An ideal companion. Highly adaptable in domestic and sporting surroundings.

Neck

Long, muscular, elegantly arched.

Forequarters

Shoulders oblique and muscular, blades carried up to top of spine, where they are clearly defined. Forelegs straight and upright, front not too wide, pasterns strong with slight spring, elbows set well under body.

Body

A very deep with plenty of heart room, brisket deep, well defined, broad back, firm, somewhat long, showing definite arch over loin but not humped. Loin giving impression of strength and power, ribs well sprung, muscled on back.

Hindquarters

Strong, broad across thighs, stifles well bent, hocks well let down, well developed second thighs, dog able to stand over a lot of ground and show great driving power.

Feet

Very neat, well split up between toes, knuckles well arched, pads thick and strong.

Gait/Movement

Free, hindlegs coming well under body for propulsion. Forelegs thrown well forward low over the ground, true coming and going. General movement not to look stilted, high stepping, short or mincing.

Whippet types are just different now ...........The show dogs are bred to their standard/looks etc ......and the racers/coursers are bred on their speed/performance ability etc.......Horses for courses and all that :) ........Everyone has a picture in their mind as to what their perfect Whippet looks like .......If you show, race or course that perfect Whippet is going to look different to each person.......and what I see as a good looking Whippet others will see as a bag of  ......

Diva and Django are looking  I especially fancy Diva, yummy :p

Just because we dont have all the ribs showing and the pin bones sticking up dosnt mean they can t do the job as intended . Im not going to get into the old arguement again about how we differ in the `condition `we keep our dogs , but just to say . I prefer my dogs to have a `good back on them `.

My whippets have in the past caught Rabbits , squirrels and even a crow

If you dont like the size and shape of OUR show dogs , then dont look   at them
