Planning to get a puppy (first lurcher, first puppy since I left home a lot of years ago). Want to get a whippetxcollie around end of March. What should I be planning for and looking for when viewing puppies?

hiya and welcome to k9,

when visiting new litters you need to make sure that the mum is there obvious i know but some aren't which makes you very dubious about buying a pup,

bright eyed alert puppies, make sure the breeder lets you know what they have been weaned onto preferably give you a diet sheet,

when purchasing the pup what you should have indoors is a cage, pups feel more secure in these

bowls, bedding, the feed they have been having, you probably know this anyway

You would probably see lots of pups on here so chat to their owners and you will get some good sound advice as we are all a nice bunch

Good luck

Another thing is , the breeder should have some questions for you .

If they care they will want to know what sort of home the puppy will be going to .
