Hi i just pick up a puppy today a quarter jack russell and 3 1/4 shih tzu called bailey. He'll be 6 weeks on tuesday. The breeder said his mum isn't bothering him no more and he's eating on his own and got teeth and vet was happy to let him leave too. How long before he's toilet trained. He whimpers and i put him in the cat litter box and he goes. (I just put news paper in it)

He looks more like a shih tzu then a jack russell.

Awww, 6 weeks is very young to be taken away from your Mum!

I would love to see a picture of your new puppy, he sounds adorable.

I used puppy pads for my puppy, but newspaper is okay too.

If you have a garden, I would also pop him on the grass at regular intervals so he gets his head around the fact that you go to the toilet outside, when I train my dogs, as soon as they start to wee or poo - I say 'Be Quick' in a high voice, then when you need them to go for a wee when they are older, you can 'Be Quick' them and they know what you want...

Piccie Piccies Piciies!
