been ask to start a new racing news magazine, already have a printer and sponsorship to start printing in the new year, it would not only be news about - non-ped whippet racing but lurcher, greyhound, peds, and european racing along with any racing news from around the country i.e track news, breeding news, results of the above, club news and lots of good fair competitions for everyone to take part in, would also have a debate page and all letters would be printed

so what do you think would you like another racing news magazine something alittle deferent from what is on offer at the moment, we already have people that are willing to write for some of the clubs, lurchers, greyhounds, and european racing, but will be open to offer from anyone wanting to help,

you can e-mail me on y.ragnoli@onetel.net  yvonne

Mmmm, for a start there's Countrymans Weekly for us lurcher & terriers & ferret folks, also Earth Dog Running Dog though my dads not had it for years.

Then theres Greyhound Star, and the Whippet News. Then theres K9 Which is very informative. Do you really think theres room for another? I think not

I think there's always room for another magazine Yvonne. From point of view of lurcher, terrier and ferret shows and racing.Countrymans weekly doesn't manage to print all show results as they have only so much space to spare.Would be nice to have results and pics from all shows printed.Any magazine that promotes our dogs is good news :D Good luck with the new venture :luck: If there's anything I can do to help, ring me :D Karen

How would this new magazine be able to report all the lurcher results? Wouldn't you need a reporter at every show? Plus your going to report all the other results!!

Sounds a bit of a tall order to me for amateurs

Could report exactly the same way as the Countrymans Weekly do.The people who run the shows send in there show reports and hey presto the results get printed.Don't think thats difficult even for amateurs  Karen

Advertise the shows free on condition they return results and pics, no results forthcoming might not be room to advertise their next show 8)

Me thinks Rodders is after ace reporters job :- "

and me thinks we have another new member who wants to start some trouble :- " Just noticed Mr Thumb you appear to have put the same thing on every site Yvonne has posted this thread on.With regards to me wanting to be an ace(quite like that bit)reporter, from all accounts I was a bit late in offering my help,i've got to go to the back of the queue if I want to be an ace(had to print this again)reporter, but fortunately after a serious bit of grovelling she's promised I MIGHT make the tea girl if i'm lucky :D wish me luck :D Karen

Trouble! could you pinpoint where in my posts I have tried to cause trouble?

Just because I replied on the sections of k9 in respect of a new magazine. I'm sure most adults would say that I was just voicing my opinion. I hope the new editor of this magazine keeps their word in respect of your post, as having you as the tea lady ,because I think you would stir the tea to perfection Mr Rodders, and who knows one may finish up as the sub-editor

Wow promotion already :D Hope there's a wage increase to go with it :- "

I think a racing mag is just what we need. Some of us like to see the results from places we didnt go to, to keep abrest of who wins what. Also, web-sites only report on events that members go to, and a mag could have a wider reporting base. Go for it. Dont listen to the 'you cant do that' brigade. They said man would never fly.........................................................................
