In new to this forum. The reason I have joined is because I lost my GSD X lurcher recently and at some point inwin yhebthe future looking for another lurcher. I just want to see what's out there as I do t fully trust most of the adverts for pups on the usual sites of gumtree, pets for homes etc. Does anyone here breed lurchers of collie greyhound mix or along those lines? Cheers

Welcome - and don't worry about spelling mistakes, no one's checking! I'm sorry for the loss of your previous lurcher.

Would you consider rescues? They often have pregnant females coming in and have to find homes for the pups, though chances are you won't know anything about the father's breeding. But they also often have older pups or mature dogs whose personality/type is clearer. I don't think they can do home checks right now though - unless they've come up with ways of doing it virtually.

If you go down the rescue route check out Lurcher Link. They are bloody good people who run the rescue.

Yeah a rescue is definitely not out of the question. I'm in no rush though, I want to be I get the one so will take my time. I'll keep an eye on lurcher link though. Cheers

Welcome to the site, look at my avatar and see the brindle! Well he was a 5 month rescue dog and wow he stole my heart from the minute I walked into the rescue, he gave me everything, I had 14 great years until a tumour lost me another 2 years as he was very fit and hardly at a vet, best of luck in your search .

I second Rinkydinkydo's suggestion of Lurcher Link. They're based up north, but will transport all over the country.

If you're in the south, Margaret Green is good too - they do all breeds but often have lurchers in.

Another vote for Lurcher Link - sensible people who really know the type, and what breeds are most likely to be in each dog.
