### Hi there, I have finally plucked up the courage to say something.

At the east of england, (P'boro). I found myself chatting to Janis, (pencleave whippets). It was good to finally talk to someone who knows about whippets. Thank you Jan for sharing your time, knowledge and love of this animal. I was the one looking through the dogs in the ring trying to pick good form etc! ha ha

I am hoping to find a whippet bitch sometime soon, with a view to doing abit of showing in the future, can anyone help and advice me. The biggest problem I have is actually getting my 1st dog!!!! sue ###

hi there and welcome to k9

hope you enjoy the site , have you picked out a "type" of whippet that you like ? if so contact the breeder and ask if they have any puppies coming up , if not , keep going to shows and looking on sites like this and im sure you will find what you are looking for

when are you looking to get a pup and which area are you in , that may help if people can pm you with details of litters in your area coming up

I agree with what Sharon says - do you know what 'type' you like. As I'm sure you've noticed they're are a fair few different ones out there.

If you can give us a few more details then hopefully we'll be able to help you with where to go, who to approach etc.

Best of luck in your search for a whippet - you won't be disappointed, they are the most wonderful dogs

Hiya Sue, So glad you found the site im sure youll get lots of good advice on here

Why not join one of the Whippet Clubs in your area as they will advise on the shows coming up, these club shows are perfect for meeting whippet lovers and deciding which breeders have the type you like. If you pm me with your address area i can give you the club details nearest to you.

Im sure you find what you want as you are obviously doing your research and will be a lovely home. Nice to chat with you and your family  Jan

 'Thank you' to all on k9

I've taken the ball by the horn, or dog by the lead so to speak. I have just returned from Berkshire with the most beautiful 8 months old bitch. Yes I have her!!! Thank you so much for your help and support.

I hope to meet some of you on sunday :)) :)) :))

Regards Sue

WELCOME :D

I am fairly new to this site, but it is absolutely superb and very addictive

Hope you enjoy this site, the photos, and get the answers you wish for about whippets 8) best place to be to ask about whippets :D

Welcome to K9 Sue

I am quite new to the site too. I am so pleased [and a wee bit jealous] that you have your puppy. I am hoping to get my puppy after my hols in September, and can't wait for then, when she will be old enough to leave her mum. I am also hoping to have a second puppy bitch in the coming months, so that they can be playmates. [is that really wise methinks!]

Best of luck, and happy times :))

Maggie
