I don't usually head off on Saturday mornings...but as the OH had done the weekly shop and it was too nice to stay in cleaning, I decided to head off into the local hills. I was even inspired to take my camera as the sun was making a regular appearance!

The walk started off as an uphill 'sprint'’away from the reservoir…..keep up Fred!

Some views half way up…..

It’s a popular grouse area as you can see from the way the moor is managed….

We reached the ridge top and headed back down the other side of the hill…..some more views….

A small pond……no frog spawn yet!

Time for some photos…’Is this my best side?’ asks Fred:

What do you mean no! Let me turn around then….

We reach the small shrine at the end of the valley…

I wish she’d put that camera away!

Just ignoring her is the best bet…

We spent a few hours out and about…a pleasant way to spend a Saturday morning.

He does rather doesn't he? :nuke: :b It won't be long before he's a bit sleeker. I always give him a good stripping in the spring.

He doesn't even notice his tail in that he wags it and just behaves like he normally does. The little splint is working really well. So lightweight he doesn't feel it, but it keeps everything aligned!

Thank you for your nice comments about Fred, Janis. Some weeks I think he looks quite wobbly and frail and then others I wonder what I'm making a fuss about. He quite happily managed a few hours walk yesterday at a stop/start pace. He doesn't run about much and is slow up hill, but apart from that he's enjoying the spring weather

Thank you for your nice comments about Fred, Janis. Some weeks I think he looks quite wobbly and frail and then others I wonder what I'm making a fuss about. think the warmer weather will make a big difference to him Nicola, even my bones ache in the winter months.... :lol: :-
