Don't mind being woke up but think the people who don't clean up after their dogs should be put in the stocks and have it thrown at them. :x

Excellent, congratulations to the fed. A track for the future. The track does look in better condition already than a lot out there.

If you go back to page one and click the link Witton Castle Lakes Jackie added it takes you to the fishery website, sure you'll find all the information on there

Hi vicky can you link this topic in fed section too

Well done Denise and Garry on securing such a great venue.

Thanks Gary and Dee excellent job on finding and securing this venue sorry Icouldn't make the meeting on Sat no one at home to see to pups ( hope no one got a pic of me in ASDA :- " (w00t) ) but thanks both of you and Vicky and Jac for attending

The NNWRF committee have been on the lookout for a new venue and Gary,Dee and myself have visited a few places around the country over the past 2 years without much success till now

One of our main concerns with WITTON CASTLE was the location compared with SWALLOWNEST which was the ideal location for all regarding travelling but We will allways have a problem at Swallownest regarding the race track as we can never have a permanent track there, we have looked into having the fencing moved and having a track down the side but we can't get enough distance so we would have to as now go corner to corner across the football pitches this wouldn't be as big a problem later in the year but as our major straight events are held at easter and May Champs it is a massive headache trying to get the track anywhere near fit to run on let alone being able to water the track, taking this and other things into consideration the NNWRF committee hope their decision to secure WITTON CASTLE on your behalf meets with the aproval of all members

It would be nice to find a perfect track in the Midlands but it isn't going to happen. People travelled not that long ago up to Seaham for championships, i can't ever remember it being poorly attended.

At the end of the day i'd travel hundreds of miles to run on a good surface than travel 20 mins down the road to a poor one.

Now all we have to do is hope people appreciate what a good venue it is and how lucky we are - we need to keep it!!!!

(w00t) Hang fire Vicky we are hoping it might happen (a track in the midlands) As most people know Manton field is now being re-developed, all new shower and changing facilitys being up graded Although work not to be completed till july 09!! so who knows maybe in the future we may have a track in the midlands if its up to standard.
