option 1

EAST AYRSHIRE WRC have been invited by the council to put on a whippet racing event at Easter as part of the local festival linked up with the CHILDREN IN NEED Danny has been in a meeting this morning with the council he will be sending a list of all whats on offer for Dee to post East Ayrshire WRC have offered the NNWRF the opportunity to stage the EASTER CLASSIC at this event, everything will be layed on by the council camping arranged as for the May weekend and storage for anyone who wants to leave their caravans in between the two the aim of the council is to promote sport and recreation and they are very keen to include whippet racing as part of this, the press and television will be present

FULL DETAILS TO BE POSTED LATER

The NNWRF committee are aware of the need for members to tighten their belts in the present economic times, and the extra distance some members from the wider regions have to travel, but its not everyday an opportunity like this comes up where councils are willing and eager to encourage sports like ours

option 2

BLIDWORTH WRC has been on standby to accommodate us if all else fails and Chris Horsnall has been able to arrange camping which is only about 20 minutes away from the track which is ideal for anyone who likes fishing as well there are no facilities such as showers/ clubhouse/hook up but at only £5 per night good for a couple of nights

WE HAVE ONLY A COUPLE OF DAYS TO DECIDE as the ads need to go in W.N. WHICH ONE DO WE GO FOR

the NNWRF COMMITTEE would like to thank Danny and Chris for all their help and effort

details for the champs will be posted later when everything is finalised for that venue 99% there on that one

wed rather go to ayr and leave the van in storage up there saves us towing back up in may

Hope it all comes off, sounds like a good weekend at Ayr especially with the charity involvement. Sadly I wouldn't be able to attend as it's far to long a drive to come up Saturday morning, sleep in the car overnight and drive home again Sunday night then be up for Uni at 5am on Monday.

The Woodroad Regeneration Forum asked me 2 weeks ago if I could put whippet racing on at their Homecoming Funday on the 11th of April. As the NNWRF event was on the same weekend I told them that I didn't think I could get enough dogs. When I found out Witton Castle was no longer on I phoned Denise with the offer of East Ayrshire as a venue.I have had a meeting with the Forum and contacted the caravan site and this is what is on offer.

Caravan site- Live band on Sat night.

Disco Kareoke Sun night

Sat Funday- BBC's Pudsey Bear to open event.

Catrine House Farm with animals where the children can make their own ice cream.

DJ who will house a talent contest and an Easter Bonnet Parade.

All children attended will be given a free easter egg.

Welly Boot throwing competition.

Coconut Shie

Three legged race, sack race, egg and spoon race.

Beat the goalie.

Tree carving events.

Two hot food vans.

Beer Tent.

Fun Fair Rides.

Various stalls, including tombolas, brick a brack, bottle stalls, hand knitting, hot pancakes, guess the time the dog will wake.

Fire engine safety demo.

Police and First Aiders.

BOOKIE for Whippet Racing if required.

This is all to raise funds to regenerate Woodroad Park, which,in turn will help us with our track etc.

Is anybody interested?

Danny.

I am Danny lol, would only be 3 an half hours for us, maybe bit extra with caravan.

Sounds like council pulling out all the stops, im sure the track will be in fab condition plus plenty space for spectating and parking which blidworth seems to lack.
