it has being brought to my attention that one or two people have being having a go about my dog, and that it should have to run the straits to.

my dog has no more greyhound in him than quite a few sc dogs that do run the straits.. his sire was wonderwall, who was half whippet = micks mystery. 18lb.

this makes him 3/4 breed... regardless of his size,

and secondly i used to race a top class bitch called uptown girl.. she was 35lb, and would fit in any whippet traps, but did you see me at more than a couple of strait meetings with her...NO, because i dint much matter the straits, one reason is because it is all over to fast and secondly i think it is bloody ridiculous running dogs in the heat of summer, ..often on rock hard ground..and there is another way of looking at it, you only have to put your dog in with him for half a year ,.

its bend racing for me, always has and always will be.. :p

I just like to see him run  , he's Moany Moany's half brother. There's a certain "personality ( )" to Wonderwall pups, Blaze was the only one left until Murph came along and it's nice to see something else out of Naz on the track.

As for the 3/4 breds I think in this day and age they've been around for long enough for people to recognise them as a Non-ped whippet. Blaze's dam, Aimee was Uptown Girl's sister, and I think she was smaller.

MAURICE NAME NAMES IF YOU KNOW WHO IT IS IF NOT DONT LET IT WORRY

YOU THERES PEOPLE OUT THERE GOING TO BRING THIS SPORT DOWN

IF YOU LOOK AT MOST RACE CARDS THERE MORE IN THE SCRATCHES

THAN THE OTHERS

this is one reason why i have left the sport /hobby the dogs are getting to big if you want to race big dogs 55lb plus get a greyhound and bend race,if i had my way there would be a weight limit put in place, and i don't thiink that is too far away. and before you all jump on my back there is nobody in whippet racing that likes to watch the scratch racing more than me 'but in the last few years it as got out of hand the way they are being bred . this is whippet racing not greyhound racing just my opinion

Be careful you lot don't get this topic closed  it's ripe at the moment :- "

never really known jasper run the straights. live and let live enjoy all the racing no matter the size of dogs  wether its bends or straights i personaly hate bend racing but thats just me :- " dont think anyone should dictate to anyone on breeding or whatever racing thats prefered :) to each person its there choice good luck for the bend season jasper

a whippet x greyhound back to a grehound, has not just gone on in the last few years john, over 10 years ago it was going on to.. and there are big and small in all crosses.. how big was cornish bob, ? how long ago was that then.. and regarding doing away with the big dogs, well the fed have already sorted there class. ..48LB and over...for dog racing to survive it is important to cater for all the dogs that you can get.....this sport only needs people like that in it anyway...

Some good points there Maurice-hot summer-(if we're lucky), hard ground-only half your weekends/time taken up racing?

Yes it is over very quickly too-(heard Hazel complaining to Geoff about that too)

Bend racing much faster  -loading them in etc-not having to walk up the track-

Anyhow-There's no rule book saying you have to race both is there? and both Steve and I know what a stickler you are for rules-Lol
