I think you are under the impression that I am knocking non ped racing which I am not, define a non ped whippet for me so I can be more informed

I was just reading the thread and saw that whippet greyhound crosses are also called non ped whippets(which I thought would be a whippet without papers as I said) does anything crossed with a whippet make it a non ped whippet? or does it just have to look like one

I think you have seen my girls lesley there all non ped laceys 1/4 greyhound shes 28lb so is Indyand shes only 21lb and and ninnys greyhound anscetry is of her Breeding form (pedigree)shes only going to be tiny her mums 16lb and shes only tiny. all are non ped as they fit in to the discrition of whippet type. i dont know if that open it up to a beddy whippet cross or not. But i class non ped as a type rather than a breed. Dont think thats much help to you though :D

Sorry Lesley not knocking at you :D If a dog is whippet or greyhound like in appearence yes it could be registered with non peds whos to say that one isn't full whippet and the other is a full greyhound if they are registered with unknown parentage. You have to rely on peoples honesty in the matter. As for greyhound use in non ped breeding, there are more knowledgeable people on non ped site to tell you why this is done, but it has been done for years, and now the resulting larger offspring are catered for in non ped racing.Which is why Peony can choose where she wants to run her dog.Hope I didn't offend you :D Karen
