WHAT A PISSING DAY ! COULD THE WEATHER HAVE BEEN ANY WORSE ? :(

anyway turn-out was more than we reckoned on considering the adverse conditions...horizontal rain and 65mph gusts... head on into the starting line !! after much deliberation between club officials we decided to go ahead with the racing. The track was measured exactly at 228m (250yds) .

UNDER 23 " - CHAMPION "TORI"........ ROSE MCCOY @ 12.8 sec

reserve - "meg" DAVID CAMBELL @ 13.95

OVER 23 " - CHAMPION "COLT" ....... JOHN HUMPHREYS @ 12.8

reserve - "molly".......JIMMY HUMPHREYS @ 13.12

PUPPY CHAMPION - "BOUNCER"......ADAM RODGERS

reserve - "bronco"......RHONDA FLOYD

the darkness and terrible weather took hold so weve opted to run the simulated coursing next sunday. well done to those who made the effort to attend  pictures to follow......... :- "

THANKS TO GEOFF FLETCHER FOR HIS SPONSORSHIP

If I was you I wouldn't be concerned about going over 2 Ireland 2 try and beat them at lurcher racing because your going 2 get your arse kicked over here this coming season and you can bet your bottom dollar it will be plastered all over K9 and rest assured there will be photos and film of this VICTORY :D

PS and I predict you will have all the excuses in the world. dont ask by who just you wait and brace your self :sweating: (w00t) this time next year you will be staying at home playing with your ferrets :D

well like i say they there to be beaten so good luck to everyone this season and safe raceing to u all, injury free i hope

both colt and tori finished exactly same time @ 12.8, works out at almost 20 yds per second  imagine how much energy is behind an 80lb dog to hit that speed, and how much momentum  imagine if he hit you on the finishing line !!

hence his name "THE BRINDLE EXPRESS"!

J  HN

hi george, i wud say them times wud be more of an estimate rather than exact as the dogs were handslipped not trapped and as im sure u know urself its very hard to get an exact time of dogs being hand slipped... i wasnt even aware the dogs were being timed :- " it was a very wet and miserable day but was still great to see everyone make the efford and go

goodluck to everyone for 2007.. :luck:

Rose :)

Rose :)

they were timed by a greyhound trainer and his wife rose.. both were timing. they didnt want to have anyone knowing until it was all over incase people just constantly tortured them to find out their times. they only timed the finals, with it being straight down the track with no crowds in front of the dogs its easy to time.. we do it each time we run them. if i rem a while back you and darren had a little quarrel over timing dogs at shanes castle ?..i think thats a whole lot harder to time than our track hand slipped or not. thats the beauty of our club track, timings childs play to do at it.

j  hn
