I can,t get the link on for the maps so Ive asked Vicky to do it

The open will run same format as last year just one or two minor changes which are;- the 435yd scratch race will be open to any BWRA registered whippet (entry on the day )

From the North M6---M61----Reebok stadium exit--- right over M61 bare left up to roundabout ----left again stay on this road till Greyhound Pub on left hand side of road and--right at Trafic lights --stay on this road till you arrive at stadium-couple of miles or so stadium on left hand side of road after golf course.

The 435yd scratch racing will not qualify for BWRA TOP GUN POINTS

as this is additional to the normal BWRA format of racing.

CHEERS FOR THAT  SOUNDS GREAT...!

JOHN

Just a question, are the lurchers handslipped or come out off traps??('')

Rose:)

VICKY

THATS GREAT BUT HOW DO YOU ENSURE THE DOGS GET AWAY FAIRLY? DOES THE HARE START FROM OUT IN FRONT SO THEY ALL SEE IT AT ONCE? THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT CRACK, WE CANT WAIT ! :D

JOHN

yeah because if the mechenical hare starts from behind ya, then nobody gona know wen to let their dogs go and they will end up being let go at different times wereas at lurcher racing there is normally a drag lure used and u just let go wen it moves in front off ya, but not with a mechanical hare coming from behind ya???

The bloke who will be setting up the traps will be at the start of the lurcher race telling you all when to slip

mmmmm, im not sure wat way that will end up, i can see alot of accidental slips and people wanting re-runs! it really is hard to get a fair slip wen the hare is coming from behind ya! y r they not being trapped anyway??

Worked well enough last year - no accidental slips or re-runs . Much fairer for people who's dogs have never been in traps and turn round inside etc

oh ok then, fair enough, well still looking forward till it!lol

We didn,t have lurchers on last year Vicky are you not thinking about the straight open at A/T the year before

ALL DOGS COMPETING WILL RUN FROM TRAPS

there is time for lurcher owners to get to greyhound stadiums and trial before the

open

No, i'm on about the Lurcher event that Westhoughton WRC ran last year, seems silly to enter lurchers with no trap experience in the traps but hey ho, sure the trap man will be made up - Nice that we're all singing from the same hymn sheet.
