:( God it happened again :(

John and Rachel took the dog's for their normal walk. Just about 200yds from the last attack it happened again. The staffie ran out it's garden and down the path after the dog's. John seen it and did yell at it to bugger off,,it went round behind the dog's and lunged at Ricky. John swung the dog's round as they were on the lead's and kicked the staffie on the side. It stopped.

Rachel was a little behind her dad and seen it all. She was screaming. The dog walked toward's Rachel to go back to it's house but Rachel thought it was going to go for her, so ran onto the road, near a parked car. She was terrified and vow's never to take the dog's a walk with her dad again. This time the dog's were not bitted and the staffie went home with sore ribs. Im sick to death with the number of loose dog's around here but will the council / dog warden do anything NO    .

The council should do something, again it is the owners not the dogs fault. Glad you are all ok.

Try the police (no, don't laugh) this staffie is a dog dangerously out of control in a public place, that is all that is needed. If you don't have any joy with the police, tell your local councillor. You will have to tell them the law, I had this problem a few years ago, I told the police the law, they looked it up, found out I was right - and then sorted the dogs owners out.

glad nobody was hurt i would report it to the police and get them to deal with the dogs owner, we have a few dogs that run loose were we stay now i dont even try to walk ours i put them in the car and go to the kennels i used to work at, then i can let them run about without the hassle of dogs trying to go for them, if the staffie comes near you again i will bring lucy down and she will have a word with it and then you will not see it for dust she has a look that would kill  and her growl is even worse  .

We got the police out last time. Johnand the police went to the owner's house and he denied the dog had been out. Last time the dogs were all hole's Nemo the most and Ricky got torn on his side. Just Rachel for a witness as she is just 9 yrs. If only folk would keep the gate's shut and put dogs on a lead.

Everyone is fine Jill, noone got hurt this time

disgraceful! the dog obviously needs to be properly restrained, thank god you were all lucky this time! theres one up the road that constantly wanders off, we've taken her back several times, only to see on the way home that the gate still hasnt been shut. thankfully, she's a calm staffie and, as far as our experience, doesnt bite. i hope rachel gets over her fears, that sort of thing is incredibly scary for one so young. :huggles: :huggles: :huggles: to you all

Glad You are all OK

This subject realy winds me up

A neighbours dog attacked my whippet in our shared passage way back in June This was the second time the dog had attacked my dogs but this time turned on me which left me needing hospital treatment We reported the attack to the police and they turned up 2 days later to take statements

Cutting a long story short the neighbour has been to court and pleaded NOT GUILTY saying how could it be their responsibility of the dog getting out the garden and attacking when they were in the kitchen

I have now got to go to court which I am dreading

I looked up on the Dangerous Dog act and it looks like it is not worth the paper it is written on We had to show this to the police man because he had no idea about the act Why do you as the victim end up with the short straw?????????????

Maz
