Hi all, just saw this advert and wondered what the heck *not dressed* means? My mind is boggling, so any light you can shed will save it from further unaccustomed activity! Ta!

WANTED Whippet Bitch hopefully a blue and not dressed.

I've been 'spayed' and I can assure you that I spend most of my time dressed!

never heard of the before, where is the ad from?

Yeah, remember "dressed" as a term which was used to indicate non-breeding, when I was young (not that long ago mind!).

However, no one ever made it clear if it was because that the bitch was so ridiculously clothed that even the most determined of horny mongrels would'nt look in her direction.

Have to admit I have never heard of that saying before either

LOL! It was from the online version of Adtrader.

Thanks for the info Susan, now I know.

Think it's a bit of a cheek though, as they wanted this particular type of whippet supposedly as a companion for another whippet. Sounds more to me now as if they want to breed pups but don't want to spend any money to acquire a decent brood bitch!

"Not Dressed " saying is used a lot up here :- " .

Was this ad in Ad Trader ( Yellow Paper) and in Scotland, as I seen an ad like that just the other day :(

Mmmm, does sound dodgy in that context.

It was the online version of Adtrader, and the area says Denny, FK65 - I've no idea whereabouts in the country it is, other than 365 miles from me, in Somerset.

Denny is in Scotland. Must be the same ad I saw :(

Is this related to Dressed Crabs?

Mind I've never seen a crab with clothes on anyway.
