currently reading a profile, I note you have 0 posts to date so possibily using this forum only for information............I suggest you send an apology to the family by return and then forget trying to get any information via the membership of the forums, it was a very insensitive & clumsy way of "doing a job" (?).

They were still active in the topic when i

recieved mine because i had a look.

I thought it odd and looked to see who it

was sending me messages.

There are some heartless people in the world

aren't there :(

I could have sent this 'person' a very nasty pm but thought better of it.

I have disabled posting rights, and also suspended his account - I'm not sure whether this will prevent him from using the PM system, but I would think so. I didn't get a message, but he may have noticed I was a mod.

I'll give Nigel a ring now and check.

Sorry to those of you who have been upset by this incident - unfortunately these sort of people can join K9, and until they show their ugly side we don't know who they are. Thanks for letting us know.

I am concerned if anyone replied to this 'person'
I am sure if someone has inadvertently replied they will send you a private message Tracey. Please do not upset yourself anymore, everyone has your best interests at heart.

It doesn't seem right that someone can send PMs without posting for a period first. Can one of the mods explain this please.Don't worry Tracey, I am sure no one on this board has anything but your best interests at heart.

We are all thinking of you.

Cathie

There's no reason to make people post first - some people find their way here when looking for a pup - it would be daft if the couldn't PM anyone. These episodes are few and far between - and we shouldn't let the minority spoil a good forum.

I hope by disabling this account tonight that no one else will receive any messages. If however, any do get through, the best thing to do is delete them straight away. This person will give up if they don't get what they're after.

Just came upon this thread whilst browsing. Unfortunately, this seems to be the new way of journalists beating each other to stories. In August, a colleague of mine was killed in a traffic accident whilst on her way to see students on GCSE results day and I was contacted, through facebook of all things, by a journalist wanting a photograph of her. I was shaken as it seems such a horrible intrusion, and I was just a colleague - I can't imagine how family must feel to be approached through their computer during such a sensitiv time. If people band together and refuse to co-operate with journalists this way then it should stop - but unfortunately it must work in some cases otherwise you think they'd stop doing it.

Really sorry to hear about this, Tracey.

I will be DEEPLY UPSET if ANYONE replies to this 'person'

Deeply Upset Hurt & Betrayed if anyone replies

I am very sure that no-one would intentionally want to make you feel upset, hurt or betrayed at any time, let alone at the present so I hope that everyone just binned their PM's. Its good to know that the admin team have disabled that insensative s*d's account.

Gill xx

This story gets worse.

I have had a phone call from somebody who has been contacted by this A Lewis, asking questions. This person is also wondering how A Lewis got hold of their telephone number??

I will be writing a letter of complaint to the editor of this paper. A Photograph has gone into this paper & I am absolutely livid!!!!

Perhaps you should disclose all the details you have Tracey to ensure that everyone is very aware of the paper etc. so that they know who/what is contacting them.

This is very worrying, our computers & the internet are fabulous tools but can be so mis-used in the wrong hands.

Blimey Tracey, I am shocked at their low life tactics...a local paper which I have trusted...will be boycotting it from now on though if thats their idea of a service :(

So sorry this added horrible burden has been piled on top of the awful time you are going through :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

I know just how you feel :(

The news paper showed a photo of the car also and that the driver of the car was drunk :( I was shocked at the time and did wonder if I was being told the truth about my family, that my mum, dad and sister did live as they told me all the other's were fine :( , not true :(

The driver was my dad who did not drink and I lost a few of my family in that car, I was only 15yrs old at the time,,got a lot of stick from fellow kids who blamed my dad for the deaths.

In the court yep it did say dad had not been drinking, but the new's paper where not as quick to print his

God bless all , just think of the good times.

News papers will print what they like and to hell with our feelings

I've been away for 24 hours and got back tonight to find a PM from this alewis person

I thought it was very odd and deleted it.

Now I have see this topic and I am thankful that I followed my instinct and had

nothing to do with the PM.

Unfortunately journalists can be one of the lowest forms of human life these days :(

It is very invasive and I feel for you, Tracey :huggles:
