Set off nice & early at 5.30 to Paignton this morning. Made good time, by 7am was on the M5 on the way down to Exeter.

In the outside lane just overtaking a car in the middle lane when a guy in an Audi hares up behind us 100 miles an hour. (w00t)

We can see he wants to get passed & as soon as we get passed the car in the middle lane we will pull over to let him pass, so we think :- "

But just as we have overtaken it & are about to pull over in front of it, he hares from behind us & swerves in to the middle lane straight in front of the car, hares passed us, then pulls out straight in front of us, giving not a very nice sign :(

Shaking our heads wondering what his problem is, he then at 100 mph suddenly hits his brakes full bang causing us to nearly go into the back of him.

We in turn hit our brakes, then he accelerates. We accelerate & again try to pass the car in the middle lane to try & pull over in front of it, when he then swerves into the middle lane next to us, again straight in front of the other car & then tries to ram us into the crash barrier

He is now shouting out of his window "Pull over bitch"

" Pull over" WHERE??? In to the crash barrier & WHY.

So i slowed down but kept going & again he tried to ram us.

Thankfully the person with me had the good sense to pick up their mobile & shout out of the window "I'm calling the police"

He then cut straight out in front of us again at top speed, hit his brakes hard, causing us to swerve to avoid him & then hared off at top speed :(

We managed to get part of his reg but not all.

We pulled off at the next exit, we know the car in the middle lane saw what happened but unfortunately they kept going.

Sat for a while shaken & scared to get back on incase he was still around.

Finally made a very shaky last leg of the trip.

This guy could have caused a fatal accident, i wonder how many others he has done this to, god if he gets in such a rage just cos he cant pass someone immediately, what would he do if you cut him up, doesn't bare thinking about :(

OMG what an idiot!!

You were right though to get off the road and away from him as soon as possible, people like that are just dangerous and the worrying thing nowadays is that you never know what he is "on" or capable of?

Hope it did'nt ruin your day.

This reminds me of the time when the blonde was driving like that & knitting at same time. (w00t) (w00t)

The Police came along side of her & said "Pull over Madam." :(

She replied " No, it's a cardigan".

Very scary  You did the right thing :luck:

If you got a part reg and the make and model of vehicle plus description of driver.

Then ring the police, someone else may have rang them and reported the driver as well, they may have given the full reg, dont let this driver get away with this....

How horrible for you, some people think it is there right to drive as fast as they like and then get pissed off when people who are driving the speed limit wont get out there way..........

AND Bbbbbrrrrrrreeeeeeeaaaaathhhhhh

Thats awful for you :( what a

makes me think so much more about reckless drivers such as him recently, as my OH was witness at a dangerous driving scene a few weeks ago where a group lads overtook a line of cars on a blind bend at breakneck speed - hit an oncoming car , overturned , etc. my OH was first on scene to help but the passanger died at scene :( :(

People forget how dangerous driving can be. Theres really no need to drive like ass holes and beheave in such a stupid, stupid way.

I hope it hasnt shuck you up too much Nina :luck:

Well it was traumatic just reading that my old stocking, but more so for you, glad your home safe.

keith :huggles:

Very frightening for you and your passenger  - so glad you are home safe and well.

I would definitely call the police and report it to them, that is terrible and must have been very frightening for you

Irene

 thank christ youre alright :huggles: its so scary when that happens, and sadly this kind of thing is happening more and more often :(

a bloke with that extreme a reaction is bound to have come to police attention, so please do report it, because this guy is, not might, going to kill someone. with a bit of luck, he'll have previous and get stuck in a cell on remand.

count yourself very lucky. my mate sherrie had her windscreen smashed by a nutter with a baseball bat, and she was extremely fortunate to have a van with workmen and lots of lovely tools behind her :teehee: but her daughter, jade, who was 3yrs at the time wet the bed for nearly a year afterwards :(

Glad you got away from him! :( How scary!! Big hugs. :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

I think if anyone had tried to put me into the crashbarrier on a motorway, or anywhere else for that matter, I would have contacted the police with as much information as possible, make of car, colour, small amount of reg number known, reg number of cars witnessing incident. I think it is just too serious to let it go. There are cameras all over the motorways surely he must have been caught on one of them.

One of my dog walking neighbours was killed two weeks ago in an RTA, his poor family are desolate.

I saw this being done to a guy in a 4X4. It nearly caused him to tip over the central reservation, he actually tipped onto two wheels, it was horrifying and the road rager slipped off at a slip road and it was too late for anyone to follow him off.

I had someone do it to me and I have to admit I followed him and drove right up behind him on to his driveway :b I was so mad. Calling the police was the least of the threats I made to him in a very quiet but steely way :- " . And with quiet dignity I got back into my car and drove off laughing like a drain at the look on his face and that of his wife who came out to see what was going on.

Thanks Guys for all your concerns :huggles:

It was scary at the time & i think a kind of shock set in as it all happened so quickly & for no reason.

My mind just blanked & all i could think of was the dogs in the back & i had to get them to safety.

Wish i had of contacted the police but more than anything wish i had of been able to get the full reg but it all happened so fast & by the time i got to pull over i just wanted to get to the back of the car to check the girls were ok.

But i will now forever look out for a black Audi with the windows blacked out & a W in the reg!!!

I would still report it, this guy may use this stretch all the time, he is a danger to other roads users....

Report him!

Yeah & ends with an R!!!

My passenger reckons he was 30ish short brown hair & looked like a drug dealer (w00t)

What one looks like if they are a drug dealer i dont know BUT this was their description

I dont get scared easily BUT have to say i was a bit shaky cos i kept thinking of what might of happened. :(

id still report him nina.the next person he picks on might not be so lucky. :( we had a similar experience a while ago with a young couple in a car who wouldnt let us past ,they went from the fast lane to the slow one and back again every time we tried to pass, despite the fact there was no other traffic about at the time.gave us the v sign and everything,so we just stayed in the slow lane until we got to the lights.we were both very shaken as wed nearly crashed to avoid hitting them as they veered from lane to lane.they wound the window down and hurled abuse at us.our crime?driving a top of the range 4x4.we get a lot of hassle cos of the car. :( we never get any when were driving the van.glad youre safe, but please give the police the details you have.you might save someones life because of it.

Ok Kris, i will give them a bell. At least my passenger can describe the driver & we do know the make of the car for what its worth.

I'd hate it to happen to anyone else & have a feeling we will not be an isolated incident.
