Before I post the results i would like to add a little tale on my way home (75 miles) from club racing. I called in at the tescos near to the track - the girl at the check out was all of 12 years old and had obviously been playing with her barbie dolls late into the night as she was continually yawning and making mistakes as us customers patiently waited to be served at long last my turn - after watching her trying to scan the cabbage I had purchased several times I helpfully commented maybe you should weigh it - "ohhhhh ye" she replied - eventually she managed to get a price, then came the tricky bit me trying to pay with a tescos credit card. After several goes none of which were successful (not my fault) my card was then "locked" by now my blood pressure and temper were at a dangerous level - a supervisor came over and apologised but said that unfortunately I needed to use another card - eventually I left the store. In a temper, foot to the floor (slightly over the speed limite) I drove home - until half way down the A 14 where all traffic came to a halt - what the f!!!ing hell is up now I shouted to myself - the traffic did keep moving slowly but surely. When I came to the accident I was horrified at the sight I saw, and if the young girl at Tescos hadnt held me up I could have easily been involved. Whilst I was waiting in the queue I listened to the radio and heard about the police officer who has lost his life whilst trying to stop people using a bridge in the floods he was just doing his job - it brought home to me that maybe we should all take a deep breath and count to 10 (or more) when we think other people are wrong/idiots/ etc etc. At the end of the day we are all human and we ALL make mistakes - in my heart I thank the young girl for delaying me, I admit I am extremely quick tempered and say what I think - quite often without thinking what I am saying, but when I have calmed down I do apologise to whoever I feel I may have offended.

The reason I am posting this is that today when I turned up at Old Hall there was a letter from Barbara resigning from the post as Secretary, I personnally was very sorry to read this and hope that the incident that casused her to resign can be resolved. At long last on to the results

Thanks for putting the results on Elaine and I am very glad that you got held up if it meant you getting home safe and sound. There was some good racing today and it was nice to see how the young dogs are coming along.

I did not realise that Barbara had resigned, (I thought she was in the car because she was feeling unwell). I am gutted to hear this and I sincerely hope that whatever has caused this can be resolved. She is one of the stalwarts of the club and she is there no matter what the weather or whatever other racing maybe taking place around the country. She opens the club week after week for anyone that wants to run their dogs. We don't all have open class dogs and she has always made sure that club members are catered for. I for one do not want to see her go.
