My mother's whippet has just died and she is devastated- nothing to walk or love anymore! I am urgently trying to find her another, older 'rescue' whippet as she could not manage a puppy. If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful.

What about a greyhound there is always hundreds of them wanting a home.

Look on the oldies website - im sure some one can point you in the right direction! they were very helpful when i worked at a rescue and was trying to get home for an elderly lurcher

We don't have any older whippets on the Oldies Website at the moment (lots of other lovely older dogs, though), but if I hear of any up for rehoming I'll let you know!

Brighton RSPCA have a 3-4 year old male whippet listed, though I don't know how up to date their website is.

Yes we are in fact looking at asmall greyhound no good for racing , today. Thank you for replying

I've just had details of the most beautiful 13 year old whippet X. She's been in a family home all her life but her owner is unfortunately too ill to care for her. I guess that's rather older than you were thinking of, but if she is likely to be of any interest let me know and I'll send some details.
