inkspot is the other, he will be 11 now, ted the red is coming on 8, same litter as jolly joe

blue goblin won her last vet title at 8 spirit of the stag and rapid stag nearly 7 and still racing ;) full stop raced till she was 7 the oldest i can remember was at new brancpeth a dog called max run till he was 10 i think

Connor's Lass will be coming up 9 in September

maid for this is just over 8 and still racing, her mum (maid for it) was still racing at 8 i think will have to check with mum on that one.

Oldest bitch i ever raced was Megan. Not a regestered none ped.But bred from a none regestered none ped.Back to my own grehound bitch,Megans Move. She had a few puppy races, before i retired, and then never raced till she was 6n1/2 years old.She beat that flying machine,Miss Tori,in her 1st 3 races, and got pipped on the post,in her 4th ever race,as an adult. We retired her again, and give her a fun run, against Miss Tori.On the day Tori became the fastest lurcher in Ireland, and 4 nations lurcher racing champion.Megan was 9 years old,at the time, and Miss Tori beat her,by only half a length.Sadly, one year later.Megan died with Cancer,in the mouthand throat. Another bitch we had.Won her 4th All Ireland racing title. At the grand old age of 7 years, and 8 months. This was her last race, and she went unbeaten for 4 years.Taking 4 All Irelands,in a row, along with every other racing title,in Ireland.I think it was 56,in total.

We had a ped whippet in the US who raced till she was 10. she won both the veterans race and the grade D race against young dogs at the last race meet I saw her in that year; in her prime she was a grade A racer and got her Award of Racing Merit

In Scotland I have seen a couple of 9 year old pedigree whippets racing, in good form, though obviously you wouldn't expect them to be as fast as when they were younger

I have a dog who will be 6 in Sept. He's still running well, but I wish there were more veteran-only races I could enter him in next year.

Lynda's Just Right Tess was still running in top company at turned 8 1/2 yrs old.

4 those who have been lucky enuf to have older dogs racing, were they lightly raced? did they not gain many injuries etc etc?

Kerri dislocated a toe and had the first joint removed on the front foot at 3 and a half, she dislocated her back toe from the top at 5 and a half, we were told if she kept the toe she would never be able to free run as the toe would come out again so she had that removed too.

She raced from 8-9 months old and never suffered any other injuries apart from the odd back, hip or shoulder out when she'd had a bump in a race (quite often then !!!)

The other week she had 6 runs over the course of the week (3x2 runs with Lucy and/or Talli) and finished absolutely sound every time

If it ever comes to the day when she gets injured or lame after having a run or two then she will retire, it's not worth having a sore dog just for a win.

maid for it was retired after dropping her muscle (sure mum will correct me on this if i am wrong lol), she did dislocate and fracture a couple of toes when she was younger

maid for this who is still currently racing, dislocated 2 of her back toes when she was 2/3 and last year she tore her gracius.

What a dog Captain Blade was, even at 10yrs he was jumping up as high as Julie's head when he was getting excited for racing. I believe a dog called KC raced at Maltby until he was 10 years old, he was owned by Sue (?) with Blueberry Boy.
