Murphy was running this morning in the field when another dog nipped him. Look at the result:

The dog has never been a favourite of mine, but I shall be avoiding it in the future.

He certainly squeeled enough when it happened. Its off the vets when they open to get it checked out.

poor murphy  think a few stitches are needed :sweating:

hope hes ok after the vets, let us know how he gets on :huggles:

ouch , now that looks sore :(

poor murphy , hope he is feeling better soon :luck:

Poor Murphy, let us know what the vet says. I would be having a serious talk with whoever's dog did this. I have just returned from my morning walk and had an argument with a man whose dog daily has a pop at mine, even though they are on lead. I told him i've had enough, his dog is out of control and should not be off lead when it can't be trusted. His reply was that I would say that "I'm known as the mad woman with the whippets" I said that armed with that information he should be very afraid of me because he hasn't seen anything yet. Sorry to hi-jack your thread but coming back in and seeing Murphy like that just made me so angry.

Let us know how Murphy gets on, and give him a cuddle from me and a proper dog greeting my Dylan and Sparky.

Jenny

What a bloody mess!!!

I hope you had a few choice words and send him the vets bill,

Anyone who cant control their dog should be taken in hand.

As for 'Mad woman with the whippets'

Arent we all!!!!!!!

Thanks Jenny - I am cross at the person walking the dog (it doesnt belong to them, it belongs to his son)). I have had concerns about this dog in the past. The father who walks the dog never picks up after them. The dog in question only has 3 legs yet is obese - not helping it to manage on 3 legs. Finally he did not even offer to pay the vet bills. Only thing is I was not brave enough to stad up to him this morning as I was on my own, I was shocked at what happened, and I was too busy checking out if Murphy was OK. I think I will have a chat with him tomorrow though. What if the dog had nipped a child instead of Murphy? I know that the dog has snatched tennis balls out of peoples hands and can get nasty when you try to take it back. Not the dogs fault - I suspect it has not been trained properly.

Oh no that look so sore, poor Murphy :(

Good luck at the vets :luck: and hope Murphy is feeling better really soon :huggles:

Poor little Murph :( :(

That's certainly not a 'playful' nip - looks like that other dog wanted him for breakfast (w00t)

Dogs that go after others like this should, at the very least, be muzzled and preferably on a lead at all times

:huggles: :huggles: for Murphy

:( aww poor murphy ,that looks nasty ,sending lots of :huggles: :huggles: to the little man :huggles: :luck:

oh poor Murphy...that looks really nasty hun..looks a bit more than a nip. Hope he is not too traumatised by this, sending hugs to you both :huggles: Sarahxxx

That's a nasty wound :( - hope he gets on well at the vets :luck: - in the meantime you could give him some arnica caplets if you have them, for the bruising  :luck:

Def need stitches in that one Im afraid and certainly looks more than a `nip` too

Id certainly be asking for payment of vets bill too

Poor boy , give him lots of extra cuddles from all at Mulcair :huggles:

Poor little Murphy that looks really nasty.

Good luck with the owners father tomorrow - if I were you I'd take a copy of the vets bill with you and just give it to him, there's no doubt he needs to pay it. What's wrong with people? Why do they think their dogs can run rampage with no consequence?
