My baby has got hurt :( Every weekend we try to take Dobé for a whole day or afternoon for a big walk at different places. Yesterday she had the time of her life in the green fields. But on our way back home she was a bit too happy and rough and I noticed she was bleeding on her leg.

So when we were home we looked after her bleeding leg. We disinfected the wound and wrapped some plaster to keep the wound clean from dirty.

Ofcourse Dobé doesn't like the plaster on the leg. But the plaster falls bit by bit.. from all the running and playing... So, I took a baby sock and cut the toes, so I can put the sock around Dobé's leg and over the plaster. I didn't had another babysock, only a pink one but it's cute in some way.

I hope it heals quick..

But she doesn't bite in the sock or the plaster off.. She just licks.

Just tell people you have your own "sweat-bracelet"

(or how do you say this in english)

Although she has a wound, you can't keep her from running and playing around. She's still happy...

Poor Dobe

She dose'nt look as if it bothers her too much.

Can see where she has sliced a piece out of her ergot (don't know if this is called ergot in dogs but it is on a horse), anyway I'm not sure whether having it dressed is the best thing for it. I would think it would heal quicker if left open after applying antiseptic but if she licks it too much maybe bandaging is the best way. I don't know, hopefully someone will advise me the best way to deal with wounds like this.

We call them sweatbands. :)

Hello,

Yes, she only has to wear the plaster and sock when we're going for a walk and outside.

In the house I take it off so it can heal quickly and to let the air on it.

She doens't lick very much on it anymore. She only does it when we wrap something on it or when we disinfect the wound.

It's already better :b I hope it will heal nice and won't happen too often :luck:

As Debs ( alfyn ) would say `put some lavender on it` , that will help it heal and she wont lick it either :huggles:
