Hey all, happy Friday!

We are taking our youngest boy Eli (collie mix) to his first dog show tomorrow. It’s just a small event but there are some competitions and we’d love to enter him for fun.
Does any one have any tips on how to keep him focused on the event or anything else related to competitions that we should know? We’re entering him in to ‘Most Handsome’ and ‘Dog the Judge Would Most Like to See Under the Tree’ :-D

So excited to also give him his first go on an agility course! There is one there just for fun and I’m sure he’ll absolutely love it

For showing, I'd suggest have something really tasty and stinky in your hand to grab his attention. Otherwise, be aware that all the people, dogs, sounds, smells and sights can be overwhelming to a sensitive dog - watch his body language closely and if you feel he's not enjoying it, don't be afraid to simply walk out of the ring.

Thank you, we better crack out the best treats then! Hehe. Yes we will watch him closely, he’s usually very outgoing so hopefully he’ll really enjoy it :)
