Hi all

We have two whippets four and one year old.

They are great together but the first five minutes is mad with both nipping at each other when running. Always looks worse than it is!

I assume this is just them having fun?

Like i say after five mins calm down and just run together.

Anyone else experience this, do you just let them run it off?

Thanks diesel and jasper

It sounds pretty normal to me, just exhuberance and excitement. Unless they are breaking the skin and causing wounds, then it's too much.

From what you describe, it sounds like very normal (?) whippet behaviour to me!

When they go into "excitement" mode, normal reason/behaviour goes out the window! It's not that they mean to be disobedient/deaf - they just can't respond to anything except the sheer exuberance of being free! That's something I miss now...the fun of seeing two whips having fun!! You will know if things get out of hand, as kirslin said!

seems I have a lot of the boys wrestling, there's much noise that goes with this too, but never any injuries. If this is what your whippets are doing it's just rough play, if one or both come away bleeding then it's fighting..
