Hi,

our german shep herd lives out side in our garden, we have our garage made into a BIG dog kennel, with double glazing, heating etc (it joins onto the house) and the 2 lurchers when we are out go in the garden & kennel with him. we are having a problem with bedding they are all fairly young dogs who play alot, and spry has a habit on a sunny day of taking her blanket/pillow etc outside to bask in the sunshine!

but spry dosnt take it back inside when it rains, and then the puppy will also drag the bedding out too, weve tried, towels, blankets, pillows, eva boards, caret etc all to make a comfy bed but they always end up wet and dirty!

i know loads of people use shredded paper, (we currently leave there cages in the garage so they sleep in there - with the bedding)

Do you think removing the cages, and makes large boxes that they "jump" into with shredded paper will work best? I dont want the paper to blow all over the garden though and make it messy?

what do other people use?

I would just get plenty of vet bed- it washes brilliantly and dries in no time- doesnt hold in the wet either.

Cant comment on the paper bedding as I have never used it but I can imagine that it would blow all over the place!!

we have/had vet bed. I love it, so do they but its too light weight they take it outside all the time

When I had dogs in kennels I used shredded paper. They had deep boxes and heat lamps. I found it very good and they were always warm!

try tying pillows blankets etc at corners on to cage or something so they cant drag em out or use shred paper tom
