So I guess the general opinion is if you own one dog or more and work full time you should hire a dog walker to take them out every day. Do you keep your dogs in the house or the garden while you are gone? If you have two dogs do the walkers charge for each dog if they are being walked together? I have grown up with dogs and have always been a dog lover. Although I would love to be a dog owner and have wanted to be for some time, I work full time, I rent on my own and my pay is peanuts so it looks like I have everything against me :(

hey- im pretty much the same as you- and i have a dog and cat, but i also have a boyfriend- who doubles the income and halves the work needed when owning pets!

i find it pretty challenging anyway- and have had to do it alone a couple of times whilst chris has been away- but its knackering! if for some reason we split up- i would either have to move back home with the dog- or give mum my dog to care for as i wouldnt have the time nor dosh to spend on my babe.

we only went ahead and got pets after a long think and making sure that there would be a back up plan if our situations changed, whatever happens- i'll always guarantee that my pets are happy.

so yes- i would wait for now, if i lived alone- i would get rats, a bearded dragon, tortoise and a gecho- these are all the animals i want but 'not allowed' by OH!!

:( I know, I guess I will just have to be content with continuing to look at all the lovely photos of your dogs :))

If you miss doggy company could you volunteer to dogwalk for a local rescue? I know it's not the same as having a dog of your own, but it can make all the difference to dogs in kennels to have someone to take them out and give them some one-to-one attention a couple of times a week :)
