i took my dogs for their vaccs on saturday and my vet told me that there has been quite alot of parvo around by us lately, he has had 5 cases in the last month !!! :(

just thought i ought to post this for any members local to wolverhampton. several other local vets have had cases of it too.

thanks for passing that info on to everyone, it just proves how important it is that we keep our dogs protected even the boosters........

i have nursed enough dogs with parvo and seen them die in such pain for me to never ever not vaccinate my lot..... :(

A friend of mine in Birmingham's dog is just (luckily) coming through parvo

keepin it all crossed for Lucy

Sadly other friends of mine have not been so fortunate recently :(

i am never one to knock alternative medicine or natural remedies, on occasion i have used them on my dogs with great sucess but vaccinating is some thing that i never leave to chance, its just not worth even being late with them, especially when it seems that some thing as bad as parvo is getting to be quite common in alot of areas.

when i worked at the vets we once had a greyhound in that was three months late with his vaccs, turned out he had distemper, we lost him within 48 hours, so sad.

Nice to see someone letting dog owners know some usefull info (good on ye)

whilst we are talking about useful info, a friend of mine said that her vet had suggested that she have her male lurcher neutered at 4 months.(she refused) when i was working as a vet nurse the absolute minimum age was 6 months, the vet prefered 9 months if possible. has anyone else heard of neutering so young? seems too young to me, my vet agrees.

thanks for warning
