Sorry - Mrs. J. Russell judged Bitches in l992

June Minns did judge the group and was also the referee for whippets.

Can't remember whether she was needed.

Irene

It was our Sandra Marshall, Lowerdon who judged bitches in 1998 not Mrs M.J.

Ch Jubilant Lady od Tygreen and Lowerdon was best of breed in 1980 and went on to win the hound group as did her sire Ch. Beseeka Knight Errant of Silkstone with his best of breed.

Now some research for someone, how many of the Crufts judges have won Best Of Breed at this show.

I don't know the answer to Patsy's question  , but I bet Irene, Jenny or Helen do

wonder who answers first? :)

About 7 at a quick look :- "

Patsy (On more than one occasion :D )

Sandra Marshall

Nev Newton

Roma Wright Smith

To start you off

Roma has won it twice , the second time with CH Silkstone Jewel in the Crown  who was also group 2 .

Are we looking for judges/ BOB winners from 1972 onwards or if not what year are we starting at? I'll have a go but trying not to get tripped up with handlers not being the registered owners.

Come on Patsy, I bet you know the answer....do tell. I know you have had BOB at least once as I was Res BOB on that occasion with my oldie but goldie Beauty. That was her second Crufts CC as she also had BOB in 1997. You definitely deserved the BOB that day Patsy with your handsome boy, he showed his socks off.

Here is another question..how many veterans have won the CC in Whippets at Crufts?

Here is my special one who got the CC aged 9.

By the way Patsy gave Beauty the third CC to make her my first champion. She is now in her 14th year and enjoying the spring sunshine this year.

One Veteran I can think of:-

CH. WELSTAR ROYAL MINT

Won the C.C. in l986 aged 8.l/2 yrs.

Come on someone, if not Gwen, must have a picture.

Irene

You are going to make me go all goosepimpley now, I loved Royal Mint with a passion and still have his picture on my office wall.

He ticks a few boxes here because Gwen has judged Crufts as well.
