Sittingbourne RGT Charity Night 7/5/10

Honeyhills PWRC Exhibition Race

After two trials sessions, 23rd - 30th April at the Sittingbourne track, five Honeyhills PWRC Whippets took to the sand under lights and in front of nearly 2,000 noisy people.

The race distance was over 199m, 218y approx around the 3rd and 4th bend.

Shadow had posted the two fastest times in the trials and went off as the odds on jolly. A book was opened for the race and my attempts to influence 6/4 the field fell on deaf ears!

Diamond Geezer after being declared fit to race by owners Colin and Tina Jennings trailed on the 30th and although totally missing his break ran the bend like a champion that he is.

The race card read as. (abbreviated)

Trap Dog Owner Best time

1 Sandman Tilly Nind 14.91

2 Vacant

3 Marley Dave Bursey 15.29

4 Diamond Geezer C & T Jennings 15.60

5 Stan the Man C & T Jennings 16.44

6 Shadow C & T Jennings 14.70

After a good even break Diamond Geezer defied his advancing years showing his class and experience breaking from the pack to win in a time of 14.64

Result

1st Diamond Geezer 14.64

2nd Shadow

3rd Sandman

4th Marley

5th Stan the Man

Honeyhills would like to thank all the members that supported this event. Photos of the presentation to follow on the Honeyhills website
