i hope its gone down abit by the morning......we had to move the car out of the garage at the bottom of the garden  we had about an inch to go before the water was at door level (w00t)

the water was pumping out of the manholes, about 4ft high

They say that Worcestershire is one of the worst hit counties : ....................tonight, in my little house, in the middle of a town, in the middle of the country, Smallboy is wearing a very worried expression as for the last hour or so, a helicopter has been hovering over us, scanning the area with huge lights. We can only assume that they are looking for a missing person/persons

We have had continual rain for over 20 hours now and there are no signs of it letting up.

When I walked the dogs this afternoon, the floods came over the top of my wellies and Smallboy had his first opportunity to swim ....................naively I had thought it would be in a river that he took his first strokes, not the middle of a field

This evening we walked down through the centre of the town and saw abandoned cars, only visible from the windscreen wipers up  . I tried to take 'photos but the rain was pelting down so hard, the results were just a blur.

When we had rain a few weeks ago, a man in the next door village was swept away in his car, his body being recovered from the vehicle, two days later.

It seems incomprehensible that in this day and age, where we can send man to the moon and cure most illnesses, that prolonged rainfall can produce such devastation.

My thoughts go out to all who are affected

:( it is terrible the damage that is caused by the floods :(

our garage is under water and i spent most of yesterday trying to move thing up high enough so they wouldnt get wet  .......with not much luck.....il be having a trip to the rubbish tip next week im sure :( .......but it does make you think what its like for the poor people whos homes flood  :( ....dont bare thinking about....it must be awful,

fingers crossed it dries up very soon..........my garden has not gone down any :(

but at least its no higher

After another night of rain, we went into town to see what the effects have been :( .............. neednt have bothered as we have been on all the news reports. :nuke:

There is a very bizarre feel to the town at the moment; people are all out to have a look yet there is an air of unease, most noticeable when yet another adapted fire engine screams through or helicopter flies over .

Here is one of the main bridges into the town, on the left of the picture are the remains of 9 mobile holiday homes which have been washed downstream, crashing into and fracturing the bridge. The bridge has been closed as under it, have been washed 8 huge gas cylinders, which the Police are worried may explode.

Friends locally are now without mains gas and there is a 30' stretch of road which has collapsed, cutting them off totally. Now the petrol stations are out of fuel as people have been panic buying ........................who would have thought some rain could wreak such havoc??

Unfortunately we are forecast even more for Monday and Wednesday

 that is terrible :(

im sitting here now as a large black cloud is getting closer   more rain :( :(

ive been over to the horses, and had to move 2 of our old girls as the water thats collecting in the field had cut them off   the field has the river kennet running around it....well in it at the moment

il take some piccys tomorrow

i also bumped in to a lady that lives in my road, her garden is also flooded

she said her fish from her pond are swimming around her lawn at the moment (w00t) (w00t)
