Pet insurance, im not insured never mind the pets, and ive told my lady, when i snuff it just chuck me over the church wallTanya Docwra said:i have asda and pleased with them but have been told to try marks and spencers?
Bless her little cotton socks eh, seriously now, my 2 dogs are well catered for if they need treatment, i would have pets if i couldnt provide for them, i care more about my animals than i do myself.Tanya Docwra said:you say that keith but thats exactly why my elderly aunt moved from one end of the road to the other! she was almost 80 and took on a house move so she would be nearer the church yard and she really thought it would save us all money! bless her, no of us were told til she had exchanged the flats and got the date and it was too late to stop it all. lol!
Do M+S do life cover, as opposed to only 12 months per illness. I'm with More Than they're good but the excess for a pedigree dog is.... erm.... excessive.clairej810 said:Marks and Spencer are excellent. I got a very good price and no excess and they paid up within a week for Tiny's asthma.
Petplan have given me nothing but grief recently about my cat who has diabetes....
Yes, read the links in the FAQ that Helen posted. There is all sorts of info there about the M&S cover which I am thoroughly happy with, but no sense in goign into it again, when all the info is right there It's in the third link down in the FAQ link that was posted above. I talk all the way through it about investigating it, getting it and them paying out.simon said:Do M+S do life cover, as opposed to only 12 months per illness. Yes, M&S do life cover, they don't cover existing conditions obviously, which is why I'm still with Petplan with my diabetic cat.simon said:Do M+S do life cover, as opposed to only 12 months per illness. On the telly PP are very proud of saying that they insure for conditions for life. Some months before these ads came out, I had to have a horse put down because I couldnt afford treatment for it. I had claimed about £600 from PP for vet investigations. In time, the vets decided an op could be a possible cure but unfortunately by this time I had had to renew my yearly policy, which now stipulated that I could not claim for anything to do with my animals previously claimed for condition. Dont get me wrong, I believe PP's policy HAS now changed, but just because a company has glossy ads on TV doesnt make any better or more reputable than anyone else. Trouble is Gemini because they are all as bad as each other it is difficult to recommend any (not even sure if my new lot are any good yet) A colleague of mine has a lot of dogs & shows at Crufts, & her recommendation is Tesco but I thing this to do with cost as much as anything elseGemini said:Hi there - would like to hear opinions on pet insurance. Hi Janetta Many thanks for the recommendation, it always helps to hear other peoples opinions! I am with Petplan and they have increased my policy charges quite a bit this year upon renewal hense shopping around. we have two dogs and hope to have a new addition to our family this year and i think M & S sounds the best option, Thanks for your help and everyone else who has replied - much appreciated :- ) G..Jenny said:Hi Gemma,Gemini said:Hi there - would like to hear opinions on pet insurance. I would recommend Marks and Spencer Pet Insurance, they are brilliant.
All my four are insured with them. Not only do you get a discount for the amount
of dogs but also if you have one of their cards, which is worth getting if only for the
insurance. You can also waive your excess which only costs about £5.
They don't mind how many different vets you use, as one of mine is under 2 different vets
and also had to see another whilst we were away.
Previous I have been with Petplan and Pinnacle but when they increased their prices i rang around and M&S were the best, also the prices doesn't go up each year, for example 1-4 years old is the same price, so is 5-8 and 8+.
I hope this helps.
Janetta
