Well would you believe it Hahahaha , plenty of beech for the mutts then.

Can't put dog poo in general waste here, it's specifically prohibited.

Here's another question for people on this forum,, so nobody seems to be picking up there dog waste as we all see it right? So why oh why dosnt the council fine more people with penalty which will make them shite there pants hehehe? With all councils in trouble with money nowdays it's got to be a winner for them right? Then only the real dog people the ones who are not being punished.

It is the staffing costs I think. They would have to catch, and fine, quite a few people in order to pay the wages and other costs of policing it.

One council (Liverpool I think) are asking the general public to film errant dog owners and dob them in to the Council. If it results in a prosecution then you get a £1,000 reward.

I think that approach is asking for trouble. There are some pretty aggressive dog owners out there. I wouldn't want to be caught filming them.

A London Borough was going to take dna from dogs so that they could identify culprits. They could not force you to supply your dog's dna though. Of course the guilty dog owners are not going to volunteer their dog's dna.

I wonder, with all the nasty dog thefts going on, whether dna testing is the way forward? The evil dog thieves are, apparently, cutting the microchip out of the stolen dog's neck with a scalpel and super gluing the wound together. If all dogs' dna was recorded then the dog fouling culprits could be identified and so could the dog thieves. Dna testing only requires a mouth swab.

So it's easy for police to fine you £60 and 3 pts for speeding but can't be done for dog owners with a fine of £80 to £100? A part time job for someone with guts will rake in £1000s in a week I'm sure, up in fife they will .

Ah but you sit in a nice warm police car nicking people for speeding. Dog Wardens have to pound the beat after dog walkers in all weathers!

And? If councils are really concerned about there areas then no problem but sorry to say they don't care, lazy weather shy tea supping armchair yes people is more to the point.

Where you from arealhuman?? Weird that you can't as it all goes to landfill.
I'm down in Devon. We have a leaflet somewhere that says what can and can't go in to the bin. Interestingly, when I phoned the local Council about if I could place bagged poo in a public waste bin, they said yes as it all goes to the "waste to energy" plant.

Yes i've also been wondering about the council thing. I put dog poo bags in my bin last night and it was picked up today. But it is a plastic bag, which I thought would have to be put in the plastics. But obviously you cant put the other 'stuff' in a plastic bag. So many rules with the council. I'm glad that has stayed the same. Because they should make it as easy as possible for people to pick up after their dogs.

The bins have definitely got few and far between where I live. Sometimes i'm walking for ages to find a bin. And yet there is enough notices. They should make it easier. Though of course I pick up after my dogs. I would never not. It's just not pleasant for other people.

Went out for our usual early morning walk just before 6am today, got back half an hour or so later to find two MASSIVE dog eggs on the pavement right outside my house.  To say I was/am angry is a bit of an understatement. What the hell is wrong with some people?

Indeed.  In my rush to get to work, my wife courageously picked it up in a poo bag and disposed of it responsibly.  Grrrr.  I just hope our neighbours don't think it was us (or our dog!!!).

Our Council have said they're going to get tough on littering and dog fouling now.  About time.  The amount of dog poo on the pavement around here is disgraceful and I still to understand why people don't pick up after their dog!

A company called "Poo Prints" has been doing DNA-profiling for apt-complexes, HOA properties, towns, & even some cities, since somewhere around 2005 or '6 in the USA.

Resident dogs are required to be profiled with a cheek-swab when they move in, & any 'orphan stools' are tested for a match; by law, anyone can match the local fine for dog waste, even someone who can prove their neighbor's dog made a deposit on their own [rented or owned] tenanted property -
in Va Bch, VA, that was $250 for a 1st-offense, & it went up for subsequent violations. // I tried to get the apt-complex where i lived to start profiling, but failed - INSTEAD, they raised the pet-rent per month fee, & encouraged other tenants to "report violators".

   Like that will really make a difference - who sees someone abandon a pile of poop after dark, or in the early morning? ... How can we keep it from being malicious gossip, rather than an actual offense?

here's a similar scheme in the UK -

Dog poo to be DNA tested in council plan to track down lazy owners ...

www.telegraph.co.uk › News › News Topics › How about that?
Apr 28, 2015 -
Under the plans, the dogsDNA would be collected by a cheek swab which is sent to a laboratory. The dog's profile is then added to a central ...

At the time that i looked into it, PooPrints charged $40 to profile a cheek-swab, & a similar cost per stool-sample; a few fines would quickly cover any reasonable costs of paying someone to sample & pick-up all orphan stools.  ;)

Unfortunately, DOG WASTE is the single most-likely reason for dogs to be banned from public spaces - so owners who fail to pick-up are the ones responsible for dogs losing privileges in parks, on shared bike / ped paths, at public events, on beaches, etc.  //  THey are limiting the lives of every dog, with no consequences to themselves.
