We've had our chihuahua cross for 8 years having got her as a rescue aged about 2.
She's always gone in to the garden to do her business through a door flap and this has never been an issue
In the last couple of weeks she has started pooing indoors or though seems to still go out for a wee
Any thoughts about a reason for this change

Is it possible something scared her while she was having a poo? Dogs can make odd associations, if it happened while she was pooing and not while she was peeing, she maybe still feels peeing is 'safe'.

I'd go out with her rather than just letting her use a dog door, and reward her immediately and generously when she poos outside.

Thanks for suggestion
Will give that a try, although she often poos in the middle of the night!

Have you changed her food, or the timing of her feeds, at all?
