Poor Beau. He is such a sweetheart of a dog. Doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He's not timid or nervous either, except for one thing...... when Max has a bone.

A couple of weeks ago we gave them each half of a marrow bone. Big mistake. Normally they are the best of mates, but the change was dramatic. We never saw Max do anything, but Beau would not go near him for an entire day. So no more marrow bones for them... problem solved, or so we thought. Tonight Max dug up an old bone and tried to bring it into the house. It's sent poor Beau into shock. He wouldn't come out of the hall. And when he does he walks the long way around to get to the back door just to avoid running into Max

A safe corner

I'm not coming out of here

If I don't look, he won't see me

I know, I'm pathetic

He sat in the hallway for ages. Then he started crying because he wanted to go outside. Silly bugger would only go out with an escort from OH. Took the safe route via the dining room table. I was always knew Max was going to protect me if I ever needed it, but somehow I just don't see it in Beau.

And here's mean old Max earlier in the day :huggles:

We don't even get the Rrooo sound :( . He does it all in silence. Its quite freaky, he just sculks. Walks around the house hugging the walls and looking pathetic

They are funny aren't they. I pity the people who don't let their dogs inside, look at all the things they miss :(

How can you know your dogs when they live outside all the time Mine are all such different characters . Your boys are real sweeties  Dont they make you laugh :huggles:

I let my dogs inside, occassionally they let me sit on there settee, the only time they go out is when they take me for a walk or they want to lie in the garden!!

Bones can be a bone (oh forgive me for that one!) of contention - 6 month old Sky goes and examines everyone elses bone - then takes whichever one she wants - and they just let her -MUGS.

my lad is normally a sweet heart with the others unless he has a bone then it's a different matter, he doesn't eat the flippin thing just sits there for hours at a time guarding it, he will sit there for ages getting more and more desperate for a wee try to walk away to go to out the back door , manages about three feet, panics that someone will nick it and runs back.

i forgot he had it once and went out for a couple of hours, when i got back he was crying because he was so desperate, the second i took it off him and put it safely out of sight of the others he was out through the door like lightning peeing as he ran, poor lamb i felt so guilty.

if he was a girl he would have had the sense to take it with him :- "

Karen - those are lovely pictures of your boys - expecially Beau. Oscar also does the skulky thing - he lets Kobi take his chicken wings off him - then looks all pathetic too.

Awwww poor softie Beau, Spry is the meanest with her wings/ pigs ears ect and the girls daren't go near her (w00t)but she'll pinch theirs and they let her, Callie always takes hers in the crate and if she doesnt want it right now sits there guarding it until I lock the door for her then she relaxes and lays down cos she knows they can't nick it
