bad feet = less running

nails should never need trimming if enough road work is being done, however if they are allowed to grow unchecked due to not enough walking, then if the nails are curved trim so that the bottom of the nail is fluch with the pad, if the nail is of the type that comes out at a slight angle then trim to about 2mm from the quick

bad nails can lead to knocked up or broken toes, this in turn leads to arthritis

My neighbour's JRT has the most awful long claws, curling in all directions now :wacko:

they won't cut them because he bites them ........ so they've asked me to do it :sweating:

If I stop posting on K9 it's because I've had my fingers bitten off (w00t)

I do my elderly neighbour's Shih Tzu's for her ... another supposed biter (the dog not the neighbour :lol: ) but she seems so surprised to have someone who treats her like a dog and just gets on with it, rather than fussing and faffing like her owner, that she's no trouble ... hope you have similar luck, but maybe you should take plenty of that Wonder Gel with you, just in case :lol: :lol:

Hi, I used to trim a neighbour's rabbit's claws for it - couldn't wear gloves and was really worried he'd kick and bite but he was an absolute angel as long as I groomed him first - like you say I think they're just grateful for someone getting on with it.
