Last night Harley scared the hell out of us, we had been for a walk on the local common and everything had been fine. After about half hour after getting home my OH looked at him and said to me he had dark circles around his eyes and was this normal????? Then within about 20 minutes after that his poor little face had swollen up absolutely everywhere, he looked like he had been in a fight or something, I was so scared. We then had to rush him to the out of hours vets who said it was definitely an allergic reaction to something, or a bee sting but couldn't find evidence of this anywhere.. the only thing we could think of that had happened on the walk is someone had left a latex glove on the common and Harley had picked this up and thought it funny to run around with it in his mouth for a while, didn't know if anyone else had experienced this as would love to get to the bottom of what caused it or any ideas you may have.

Thankfully he is looking a bit better today :huggles: but the vet said it could take up to 72 hours to get it out of his system...........the things they do to stop you going away for the weekend eh!!!!!!!!! ;)

My boy Bryn had a reaction to chocolate, his mouth went pouchy at the corners then his eyes got swollen and ridges popped up on his head, he looked like a sea monster poor boy. Gave him extra steroids and he was mostly fine by the morning.

( Yes I know chocolate is not good for them but he had cancer and we were indulging him)

Poor Harley. :huggles: Glad he is on the mend.

Sorry to hear about Harley....

Tilly got stung but a bee last summer and all her mouth swelled up, we were given tablets to give to her if she ever had a reaction again...

Good luck :luck: :huggles:

My old GSD, Hazel, had a habit of catching bees and she had an allergic reaction to bee stings, her face would swell up really badly. Never could get her to stop catching bees though! :- "
