I have just read this article in the Sun Newspaper

I think the poor puppy should be taken off this family  God knows what else could happen to the poor little mite living with this lot :(

"A PUPPY has miraculously survived - after being flushed down the loo.

The ten-week-old cocker spaniel was trapped in a waste pipe after little Daniel Blair decided he "needed a wash".

His mum feared the puppy had died but heard his desperate cries when she checked the drain.

Firefighters could not get to the pooch so drain specialists Dyno-Rod were alerted.

They used a special camera to find the pup lying in the filthy drain.

Stranded ... pup lies upside down in pipe

The pup was then gently nudged along the pipe until he was safe.

The puppy - named Dyno after his rescuers - has been given a clean bill of health by vets.

Daniel flushed Dyno after he got muddy when his twin brother Nicky took him for a walk.

Daniel's mum Alison, 40, of Northolt, Middlesex, said: "I never thought a dog could survive being flushed down the loo. He's a real little fighter."

Dyno-Rod man Will Craig, 22, from Harrow, Middlesex was cheered after the pup was saved.

He said: "When I got the call I thought it was a wind-up.

"I pushed him really slowly and watched the poor thing wriggling around.

"Eventually I pushed him far enough for the firemen to grab. Suddenly everyone started cheering."

Daniel has apologised and said: "Nicky got the puppy muddy and I had to give him a wash. I'm so, so sorry. I won't do it again."

Wonder how old "little" Daniel is???

Sounds like he is old enough to know better

Yes, it would be interesting to know how old Daniel is ... if he is so young that he wouldn't realise that doing that was wrong then he should never have been left unattended with a puppy ... poor wee thing had a very narrow escape this time, I hope it doesn't have to put up with being tormented by children who haven't been taught to respect and look after their pets :(

My thoughts exactly!!! Just been on the Mirror website and the Mother is on it via video and she is sitting with her FOUR year old son who done it!! He is holding the puppy like a sack of potatoes as she proudly tells the tale

i have just seen this on the news...the puppy is No WAY 10wks old, look like its not long had its eyes open, then they showed it with its litter mates feeding from mum .....a golden retriever

On the Mirror clip it looked like a Labrador or a Retriever and it looked under 10 wks old. They must have put the wording wrong

Oh, bloody hell.

It's just been on the news (BBC1) - it's reported that the puppy is ONE WEEK OLD, and the 4-year old boy washed it down the loo after "it got dirty playing in the garden".

FFS!!

It shouldn't be away from its mum to be outside in the bloody garden at a week old. they then showed the litter in a crate with the mother, feeding. My concern is how many other people watching this "news story" think it's just a light hearted matter for a bit of a laugh and aaahing at it. This should not have been allowed to happen. And the poor bitch who doesn't get any peace and quiet to look after her litter - God, when I think careful we were when we had a litter of puppies, and all the responsible breeders we know - and then some backyard "breeder" leaves her small children free to mess about with a litter of fairly newborn pups???

just seen it on the news, the pup was 1 week old, eyes still closed and the little boy had been playing with it in the garden got dirty so flushed it down the loo , they called the plumbers in to get it out of the drain ,it had been there 4 hours, totally disgusting and i was shocked watching it on tv :(

also what sort of a mother would leave young children/brats unattended with a bitch and her new born puppies, even the most loving dog can turn to protect her puppies :(

Is it just me who finds it really strange that a four-year-old would choose to wash a puppy in the loo rather than in the basin or bath? It all sounds extremely odd

As others have said, there is no way children should have had unsupervised access to such young puppies anyway. The media all seem to be treating it as a light-hearted happy-ending story, but it left me absolutely furious that these pups are being treated with so little respect and are being used as toys by the sound of it!

I totally agree. What really got me was the way the stupid mother came accross, as if it was a just a bit of a mishap  People like that shouldn't own a Hamster never mind a Dog and her puppies. Her son looked like a wild little brat the way he was handling that puppy on tv. Let's hope the puppies get nice new responsible , caring owners if they get to live that long that is
