Sorry to hear that news John and Elaine, we know just how you feel - we've been there with Mighty Mouse too. Did the vet leave his pad on? Sweep came back in about 4 weeks, and it has never given him any bother, and I don't think it affected his speed either. Is it a front or back toe?

:luck: Good luck with him for a swift recovery

Sorry to hear that Elaine & John. Such a shame, his toe was looking good too :(

Hope he's back soon, and I'm glad to hear he's come round from the anaesthetic well this time.

thanks for your support and replies we are both gutted that sonny had to have is toe off after all this time. we dont know if he left his pad on he said he had taken the whole of the front toe off . he said we will be able to walk sonny in a weeks time and let him free run in two weeks. fingers crossed

Thanks for ringing today Elaine and letting us know about poor Sonny :( we know how you feel, as we are still keeping fingers crossed for Ron when he goes back on the 14th April, You know Richard is a great vet  and sonny will have the best treatment

You have had a bad few weeks mate, :( so lets keep every thing crossed and hope things brighten up for you :huggles:

Sorry to hear your news Elaine :( hoping Sonny a very speedy recovery :luck:

At one time I was called "Toes Harris" as my dogs had suffered every conceivable toe injury in the book. Both Jazz, Flute and Ozzie have had toes removed and all returned to racing in no time. Speed was never Flutes forte but the op did slightly reduce the other two's speed. They did however continue to race with no problem.
