Out playing in the garden and thought i'd get a few snaps of Poppy while she was playing about.. with her ears up she looks half decent!! do they all have bat ears like this!

I went to a doggy class on monday night near where i live and there was the most beautiful whippet there, fawn with dark points. was so pretty! Next week i will take all 3 dogs with me as there are 2 classes back to back so once i know shes been vaccinated she can come and play too.

Shes off to the vets on the 26th for a micro chipping and vaccination session (in fact all but the huskies are going!) Going to see when they can book her in for a removal of her baby cave, From what i have gathered its best to do a spay about 2 months after her season.

Nice photos. I can't help thinking that Poppy looks like a non pedigree whippet (or possibly a lurcher?). There's a non ped whippet section on here if you fancy a browse through. It will give you more ideas of the different kind of whippets around. Others will be more knowledgeable. :)

Nice pictures and a very pretty girl  .....but my god she does look like a lurcher  - a german shepard cross or a belgium shepard cross like mine :)

got no idea what she is!! Whippet cross something.. After seeing some pure whippets about they are much prettier than she is.

Bat eared ugly doggy.. but SO ugly shes cute! (and currently trying to kick me off the couch as i am apparently taking up her space!)

don't say that - she is beautiful and looks so fit and healthy

She is so pretty not ugly!! :) Looks a little bit wild like a dingo or african hunting dog to me..

I think Poppy is VERY pretty!!!!

Especially love her ears and her colour

She is looking a treat now - obviously living with you suits her down to the ground :D

Shes a funny little dog! She has been kept crated over night the last few weeks as she was in season and she seems to like her crate and goes in it of her own accord now. However if shes in the house generally she will find what ever soft furnishing (even a tiny cushion from the couch) and flop across it. I was news papering her crate for a bit as she was still peeing on anything soft in there and she would mush all the paper up in to a nest and curl up on that!

its great as i go up to her saying whos a ugly doggie... whos a ugly doggy.. and she will bark now! She is like a little person in a dog body far more human like than the dobes.. the dobes are numptys! Although they managed to open the hall door this morning and all 3 of them bombarded us! I dove under the covers but my other half had a very big good morning from 3 very happy doggies!

The dobe puppies seem to love playing with her, i think shes more afraid of them as she will only tollerate them for so long!

Her ears are great though, for some reason they are all up in the pictures but normally the left one flops down making her an uneven poppy puppy!

She is like a little person in a dog body ...........

I know exactly what you mean!!!!

I have 2 GSDs and my whippety people are sooooooo much smarter than they are

although in preperation for our agilty classes we are going to do with her she needs to get the basics lke sit stay etc.. havent crackedit yet!!

What a sweet girl.

Toddy, who is not the most perfectly formed whippet in the pot (but has a 5 generation pedigree!) can put his ears up and hold them there too. Many of my whippets seem able to do this. Toddy is begining to transform as the stretches out to maturity and is not quite the ugly duckling he was when he arrived 8 weeks ago at 7 months.

Your girl could be microchipped when she is spayed. It is quite a big needle and can be a bit sore compared to the vaccination.

I find her ears amusing! when shes not all that bothered ears will be down, back etc... when its something of interst ear goes up.. when its a bunny in the back garden both ears up and this look that says MOM LEMME OUT PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE!!

We have all 10 pups booked in and its kinda a job lot being done. We get the entire afternoon sugery to our self! Need to speak to the vet when we go there regarding when she gets spayed as i have been told by more than one person its best to do 2-3 months after season.. not sure.. so will speak to him and ask about it.

Had a look at the girls vaccinations books and saw that they are due to one person.. (me) is trekking to the vets in a very large car.. with 10 pups and 3 dogs. This could be interesting.
