i must say i love the scratch racing  i like waching all the racing 20lbers to no limit dont say i mind what it is.if you want a perfect whippet get a ped                                      ray

 The KC's agenda seems to be to produce the ''perfect'' whippet, however the KC and those who feel that a whippet should weigh a certain weight or be a certain height should take note of the following video.

Jac (owner of a 36/37lb scratch Whippet who's only lineage to a greyhound appears in his great-grandparents) :teehee:

I like the small dogs pref under 20lb. But I have dogs going from 16lb upto 31lb. If any turned out scr dogs it still wouldn't bother me. I tend to breed small to get small. But even though I like the little one's I still say keep the big one's I love watching the bign's run. As been said befor if it's not broke then why fix it.

It appears that the authors of the all breed books didn't see this clip Jacs

Exellent link Jac  I have to say that we show our pedi's and my dog weighs in at 28lb he's 20" to the shoulder and is considered by some to be to bitchy and fine ? so that will give you some idea as to the the size of some exhibits!! I have no axe to grind as there is judges who like my dogs!! just pointing out that some folk might get a shock at the size of some kc reg dogs in the ring!!!! : :- "

we love scratch dogs as you all know ,our smallest is 32lb and his mother was only 18lb so small breeding wont guarantee small. we have also had a little 19lber but must say we prefer big"uns. as long as they can fit in a standard whippet trap i dont see a problem, keep them coming.

i like 16lbers that are as fast as the best big ones haha

Ive had no limits,40lb 18lb 25lb even had a show bred kennel club registered ped that weighed in at 36lb 25 years ago love em all, theres room in racing to accommodate all sizes the scratch dogs don't take anything away from the yd/lb dogs so can't see why some people are against them
