when we were away allison had penny for a while she was fed on james wellbeloved and she started to come out in bald patches ,but as soon as she went back onto vitalin royal she is ok. high protein diet does'nt suit every dog.

think u hit the nail on the head there david h wot works 4 some dogs wont work for all dogs. like i say mine on 27% + their meat and i think they look great, fur is like silk and they r both running well. but it may b too high 4 some. my old dogs just get tracker and a little bit of meat.

Ebby has Red Mills and meat mixed. She seems to be o.k on it. All the others have Tracker and meat too.

Everyone looks well and they love it.

Last Sept. I took Umbro to the vets, he had went from 19lb down to under 17lb lost all the fur on his belly, legs, tail and around the eyes. the first thing he asked was what protein he was on because they were classic signs of protein poisoning. He only on 20% James wellbeloved which my other racers are on. No meat. Which he said was great turned out he had something else wrong but shows they can get protein poisoning if its the 1st think the vet looked for. When I first started racing I fed red mills plus meat. Malcolm always said they spent millions getting everything perfect in red mills and then we go add meat and put the levels of protein to high took me a bit to find out but he was right. But all dogs are diff.
