Ok, so here is my dilema! I LOVE my Christmas, all the decorations everywhere, dinning room becomes Santas Groto, Lounge the sophisticated area!

THEN, I bought ROBIN! He already has delighted in playing with my Victorian curtains! Stripping wallpaper off in the dining room, and chewing the wood everywhere.

Any suggestions how I may still salvage some sort of decorated Christmas this year, or is it all over?

Decorations on high shelves? Cards strung across the tops of the walls? Tinsel on picture frames? It's not worth the risk of him destroying something that would upset you, or eating something that would harm him.

My younger son, as a baby, once ate a glass Xmas tree bauble. The mother & toddler group were decorating, and I found him munching it like an apple, with blood dribbling down his chin... He was checked out at A&E and was fine, but it just goes to show you can't be too careful.

Or dress Robin up in a reindeer outfit

It's only one Christmas. Put something you like high up or in a room where you can shut the door, or just have no deccos this year..

Good grief! LOL If I wasn't a NURSE I wouldn't have all the memories of the horrors I have seen either!

We haven't had a tree for the past two years for various reasons so we are going to attempt a smallish tree with wooden and fabric ornaments; no glass, tinsel etc. And a puppy gate. And a table underneath the tree if needed. And lots of luck. At least the wreath on the front door should be safe?

She can now get all the way round the kitchen including the island without her front paws touching the floor once, as we try not to imagine her baby joints being permanently stretched out of place
