Define "puppy farming"

Taken from a google search

A puppy farm (also known as a puppy factory or puppy mill) is defined as:

an intensive dog breeding facility that is operated under inadequate conditions that fail to meet the dogs' behavioural, social and/or physiological needs. Puppy farms are usually large-scale commercial operations,

the answer to your 1st question is obviosly not. the answer to the 2nd question on when do they stop racing? it all depends on the dog or if they get injured etc but id say its rare to see one race over 8 years old. as for does it then have a litter of pups? again it depends on the dog itself it may have a litter b4 it retires it may not. i personally have bred from my own bitches as i wanted a puppy from my breeding and yes another reason is to keep that particular line going.

If you put your name and as much info possible to your post im sure there will be plenty of people happy to answer your Questions. also the way you ask questions makes you out to be a trouble maker with phrases like" helpfull answers need only apply" are not going to get you anywhere,

Kc standards are farsical. I used to show dogs and know that those rules were broken by lots of unreputable breeders. With pedigree dogs selling for considerably more than non peds, I think it's fair to say that there's far more motivation to farm peds, rules or not.

As for top ten broods, there may well be one that's breached the so called KC standards but if that's what you consider to be a puppy farmer and you think scrapping the top ten brood would be a deterrent then I think you'd be sadly mistaken.

For the record, I don't think breeding a fit bitch over the age of 6 years is a big faux pas and I'd be interested to see what evidence the KC have supporting this as unethical. I'd be even more interested to know what safeguards are in place within the KC to ensure these "rules" aren't breached.
