Collies and Panacur are fine, you're mixing it up with Milbemax.

In your case earlier was maybe too soon because of the brand of vaccine your vet uses. The brand I use starts at 8 weeks and finishes at 10-12 weeks.

There are no guidelines for differing vaccination protocols between breeds. As I mentioned earlier, different vets will use different brands, and different brands are given at different times. This is for a number of reasons, mainly because maternal immunity wanes at a specific time for each disease and so vaccination for must take place after this has occurred, and because the companies are competing to get the earliest 'finish' for socialisation. Also, some vets have their own policies and preferences about vaccinating, and so may go 'off-label' and use their own schedule. You need to talk to your own vet about why they vaccinate at the ages they do, because everyone has differing opinions and you need to be happy that you agree with your vet.
