saw an advert on epupz for a FOUR MONTH young pup said to have won puppy racing at Stavely and District show.

can that really be?

I thought pups under 6 mos. shouldn't run too hard as their bones are still soft, and that racing begins from 9 to 12 months (depending on size and maturity of particular pup, and local club rules)?

Stavely and district show is nothing to do with the non-ped racing clubs

pups are not allowed into open race with the BWRA until 8 months and the NNWRF they have to be 9 months

the advertiser in question is a lying **** not a chance I havent yet met a 4 month pup that can run more than 25 or 30yards before they become all un-co-ordinated and trip themselves up or somehow slow themselves down. On the basis of the owners claim I wouldnt touch with an extended barge pole and not based on the dog but if they have lied about taht the next question is what else?

one thought was it the mother or sire taht had won something and the advert has confused teh matter

hi,we were at bosworth and seen the puppy racing,i remember there was only a couple of pups entered and the one that "won" :- " only ran 20yards halfhearted.it looked a nice little pup though and i expect they only enterd it for a bit of fun and didnt think adding puppy racing winner to its cv would cause so much comment
